That's the kind of guy he seems like. I feel like. I feel like. Was it Neo has that chat with Cypher as we all know and they have the drink and I feel like. I mean, that's the scene that had to have in the movie, but if it was Apoc instead, it would have been a more pleasant scene. He would have been the same kind of like. He still would say the same thing. Tree greasing engines and killing brain cells. He'd still say that, but also he would have given him something a better instead of the run thing. He'd say, don't worry. We're going to get through this. I know we are. Like, oh, I'll give you an Uzi. You won't be like the other ones. You won't die. Don't worry. Yeah. I'll get you a big guns.

6:52It's like, I've been trying all kinds of different guns against knowledge agents and the Uzi seems to be like the most. I think we talk about that. The best gun was shotgun for the agents because they can't dodge it then because there's too many. We did mention that. Yeah. Do we. Are there any. Have there any theories on what the Oracle said to Cypher when he had his turn? No way. Let's talk about that. I bet. You'll betray them and you'll love it. I assume. I assume. Yeah. 8:13And then she said, you'll have everyone's life. On the other, you'll have steak. Delicious steak. I know you like steak. She's like, what's going to bake your noodle is would you still have betrayed them if I haven't told you? And he's like, no, I wouldn't have. I didn't think I'd get away. Maybe she told me to get away with it. I actually like that. That was back when I had hair. That's sort of like it's unspoken between them. That's a cool idea. Yeah. And she was making a steak as well. Yeah. Instead of cookies, just hands him a steak in his hand. But the idea that he chooses to do it while they're going to a visit. So that makes it more fresh in his mind. I don't know. I don't know. It's.

His brain doesn't know what to do. Well, this is the thing that I really wanted to ask you guys. I wanted to say it last episode, but we kind of see a death right now. But it's more one of those classical technical questions. How does this work? Why does the body die if you unplug it when it's in the matrix?

10:21Shock? I mean like. Yeah. I think the most reasonable explanation would be something like, you know how you wake up when you're dreaming? Mm-hmm. From. Before you like hit the ground and things like that. And then you die. I suppose something similar to that. Like your brain simply can't. I never wake. You never die. You never wake a sleepwalker. Is it? Really? Is that a rule? Yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's the thing. Yeah. Yeah. Because I think. Really? Because it can. It can give people a heart attack or something. I don't know. It's a saying. It might be like the whole. So something along those lines. Yeah. It could be. It could be like a. Like an urban thing. You know. Like. Sure. I don't know. I think. Unplugging someone while they're in the Matrix is an urban thing.

Kind of. You know. Narrative. Kind of. Technique. To. You know. It works well. I just don't think it's very realistic. I mean. One. It doesn't kind of seem normal. Like in a dream. You wake up. You die in a dream. You kind of wake up. Because you just. Like shift. Your brain adjusts. Yeah. I think. If they knew this was happening. They would. Like build a safe. Like a safety system for that. You know. Like.

11:42Have. Because I guess. Like it ties in. You know. When Neo falls. And he gets hurt. Like a body makes it real. So like. But it doesn't make sense. The other way around. Like. If you unplug. You would somehow. Like they would. Do a fail system. Like. I don't know. Like. Something like. Some kind of drug. Or something like that. Just like. Calm you down for a minute. And then you kind of. You know. I would say. I would say something like. Could you. Would they have sophistication. To. Program a device. Within the. The. What's it called? The construct. Something that they. They have a computer. In the construct. That hacks into the matrix. So they basically. You know. Go and. Create. A. A. Second shell. Okay. So they are technically.

12:23Plugging. Themselves. In the construct. Into the matrix. So if their thing dies. In the matrix. Goes to the construct. Just go back to the construct. Yeah. It's just a remote. A remote surrogate. Or a remote thing. That looks and. Experiences the thing. The same way. That said. Maybe there's too much information. To decode the matrix. Which is a really nice. Blanket term. And tell me the truth. Yes or no. And then. My brother as Neo. Looked at Trinity. As scripted. And just goes. Trinity. Who's on the phone? And I just look. The idea that this whole time. 18:32Because I think Cypher. He's saying basically. He's trying to disprove their high and lofty ideas. By going like. Look. If I unplug Neo right now. That everything Morpheus is saying is completely false. Yeah. Yeah. And also maybe it's like. It's not his choice of killing all these guys. It's just that. You know. This is. You know. This is how it has to be done. Like maybe his plan wasn't to kill everyone. Maybe. What's the message? What's he saying? What does he mean by the messenger? Or. I think it's. Just to disprove the thing? Maybe it's more just a figure of speech. That he's not actually. The mastermind behind it. He is just doing the deed that he has to do. To get what he wants. You know what I mean? It's not like. Ah.

Oh look at them. They're holding hands secretly. Or something like that. But everyone. Just you know. Not even think about it. Like obviously thinks there. There's been like a connection. That's great in movies. You know. You can have these things in the background. That. Have a little. Secondary storyline. Without ever. Yeah. Because it creates. With a finger at it. It creates some. Um. A more interesting.

20:34Backdrop. To the next story. Especially to a dense movie like this. So. It doesn't change the turning point. But it definitely. Gives a little more. It adds a little sugar to it. Or this. Because you can easily. In this case. Lemon juice. Yeah. Totally. You can ruin it easily. Just like. Switching Apoc over there. It like. Ruins the whole thing. Neo. You must find love. Just like Switch and Apoc. And you. And you do like a panning. And they're holding hands together. Yeah. It's like I can. I can. And like. Like. I don't know. It's like. I can't for the life of me. Remember a time. When they weren't phoning. I mean. It's just like. That's. That's a bit more. Yeah. What's the one. Do you know. Russell T Davies. Do you know that writer.

And if they did die. His conversation with Trinity. With that having in mind. It's like.

Apoch seems to go blind for an instant. And the scream is caught in his throat. His hands reaching for nothing. And he falls dead. Switch screams. Oh. Um. Welcome to the real world right? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

And one I never think of, but it's oddly similar, is 12 Monkeys. Did you ever see that one? Oh, yeah. More just in atmosphere. And this scene we've been watching of Cypher killing everyone off

34:08is one of the more similar scenes. Just this like, you know, decaying, I don't know, decaying urban interior and this like tense sense of dread and all that. And it's oddly kind of similar, I found. I was just thinking of 12 Monkeys. And that's one, I like to bang the 12 Monkeys drum because I think it doesn't get brought up enough these days. I know, I always forget about that film. I've seen it once. But you know why the reason why that is though? I think because Terry Gilliam is underrated. That's why. Classic Terry G. Sure. People always forget about Terry's movies. Yeah. And then they just somehow, because they never get wide releases from what I know. I think 12 Monkeys was a wide release. I can't remember. Yeah, that was the biggest one because it was Bruce Willis.

34:48But he always has such bad luck with like financing and getting his movies off the ground. But that's just Terry G, that's how he works. You know, he needs someone to be against him. That's his motivation. So I think he creates this kind of environment a little bit subconsciously. That said, Lost in La Mancha, there was so much bad luck there. Dude. Man. Dude, I am such a fan of that. I like, I am just, you know, like bracing myself for... It's pretty much just every movie except... Don Quixote. Is it coming? Can you believe it? You're editing it.
