0:00Matrix Minute. The. With a little comma. And then the. I'm Phil. By now you should have known that. Hey, hey, hey! Jake. I'm Jake. So, buying bitcoins, what you want to do? Oh, no. No, no, no, no, no. I'm Jake. I'm hungry. And I'm not. I'm Tim. And I'm not hungry either. Welcome. Welcome, people. Welcome. Brothers and sisters. Well, we're getting scared. Because the Matrix is. Is having us. Yes, is acting against our heroes. And I'll tell you what happens. Switch. Apoc. Morpheus quickly commands the two to head on up before them towards the stairs.

0:44A deja vu is usually a glitz in a Matrix. It happens when they change something. Everything goes tense. Tank and Mouse in the Matrix feel the creeping terror coming towards them. The hard line is cut in a close-up. And Tank phones Mouse that it's a trap. It's a trap. Get out. A frightened Mouse heads to the window curtains. But behind them is just a brick wall. Oh, no. In a last-ditch effort, Mouse takes out a pair of custom-built, cam-operated, electric-driven, automatic 12-gauge shotguns for a final stand. A deadly group of armored SWAT police guards bust in as Mouse guns them down and meets his end. More SWAT officers invade the old hotel as Morpheus looks down from the staircase. Okay, so in this minute, sadness, we lost a man. We lost a new man.

1:29The first man we lost, right? Yeah. Before we get to losing this man-boy, let's talk about the fact that Tim didn't know that he was wearing a skull. That's right. A skeleton t-shirt. This is the last time we can talk about Mouse because he's going to be dead. I know. It's cool. He's kind of like, you know, he's not following the leathery nastiness. He's more like, he's got his own style. He's definitely got his own style. His glasses are also a little more transparent. They're kind of bluish. The funny thing is, I was watching somebody posted some photos of developer teams, you know, who did video games in the 90s. And I was like, photos from 1996, 1997, 1998.

2:09And it's hilarious. They all look like Matrix people, you know, dressed. Aha! Glasses. Great attention to detail there. Suits. And I think that's just the hacker culture that, you know, that existed then that they had like sort of subculture where they wanted to dress like this. Like these sort of cyberpunk-y kind of stuff. Yeah, yeah. That makes sense. You know, now we look at it like, oh, this is the Matrix outfit. But it was just the outfit of the time. It definitely was. I think so, because Mouse looks different from the other guys. And he does look like a game developer. I think one of the cheesiest shots is the cutting the hard line. You're going to talk about that? Because... The magical close-up? For me, it's one of the scariest shots.

2:50Scary. It's scary. It's cheesy. The way the pliers move... I always thought it was Agent Smith doing it. I was like, it's lame. I thought it was doing it by itself, to be honest. I thought it was just scary. Like, I thought it was just a scary shot of the pliers just eradicating those phone lines. And it just feels like a nightmare, you know? It's like showing abstract images of different things happening. You know, it's kind of like in... I should see this movie, but Eraserhead. Oh, the... Yeah. That kind of weird... David Lynch. That kind of weird... Weird, weird-looking imagery. And I thought that was kind of like a tone of that. Nothing like that to you? No. For me, it's just... It's scary because of the music and the horn.

3:31Bum, bum, bum, bum, bum. Yep. Bum, bum, bum, bum, bum, bum, bum. So anyway, Mouse is cornered. He's cornered in the room. That room is, again, the red pill room where Morpheus and Neo sat. Yeah. Okay. I thought it was interesting. I just wanted to say something that is funny that it is a continuous brain fart of mine that I had for years. For some reason, when he says Apoc Switch, I always kept thinking, is he saying Apoc and Switch, their names as Switch? Or is he saying Apoc and Switch Switch, like Switch... Oh. And I mean, now it seems logical. Why the hell would he say that? But as a kid, I always thought, is he telling the Switch positions?

4:15What is going on? Well, it wouldn't make sense, though, because he would be like, what, Apoc comma Switch? Like... Yeah. Like, Apoc. Switch. Like, Switch what? There's a character by the name of Switch that moves when he says Switch, so it's obvious, but, you know. Yeah. Idiot. An idiot. An idiot. These are the foolish ways. So he gets a call. Mouse gets a call. And I think this line, I always get stuck in my head, which is, they cut the hard line. It's a trap. Get out. Get out. Yes. Get the hard line. It's a trap. Get out. And he goes towards the window. He goes towards the window. But the window's blocked. So what's Mouse's plan? What is he going to jump out? He knows. He knows when the hard line is cut. I don't think Mouse has a plan, though. That, um... He's just checking to... What they changed, right?

4:56I thought he was just going to jump out the window. That's what I thought. Because I always thought it was... I never thought... I never put two together that this is the Morpheus room. The Red Pill room. I never thought that that was a window. I thought it was like... Back in the day, you know, you would have these sort of... You wouldn't have doors through some of the... Let's say you have a kitchen and living room. You would just have this archway. And then you would have some curtains that kind of close off the archway. And I thought it was like an entrance to another room. Oh, so you thought it was like a... Yeah, you thought it was another... Yeah. Yeah, like just another room, which had another exit that he was trying to get to, but he couldn't get to now. And the only entrance was, you know, where he came from.

5:36So that's what I thought. It was kind of confusing, I think, as well. But I guess it just makes sense that there's a brick wall and he's surprised by the brick wall, which makes him scared because that's what they changed, obviously. Yes. Well, he goes, oh no, it's scary. It's just... I think it's scary. And then again, we got to cut back to Tank where the camera moves into Tank's face. And he's like, oh no. And you look at the code and the code is just going fast. That's correct. So anyway, so buying Bitcoins, you can now buy these other Bitcoins, which are called... No, no. Ugh. Come on, go on. Welcome to Phil's show, Phil's Matrix. I'm keeping it back on topic. Phil's Matrix. Hi, I'm Phil. Okay, Tim, just say something. Guys, just say something.

6:17No, I'm kidding. Listen. Guns. Guns. I always thought, which was kind of weird, that, you know, here's the question. Do you think everyone trains Jiu-Jitsu or no? Well, it doesn't take long, does it? But then why is Mouse... I'm so sad. Do you think he's going to Kung Fu them to death? Yes. Maybe they give it to Mouse to do Kung Fu and he didn't do good. Probably. Because I just feel so sad for Mouse because, like, you know, it's just a very sad situation because you don't know what to do and obviously they didn't expect so many SWAT people to come in and so he has to literally just shoot to kill. But he dies in the process. It's a very sad sequence.

6:57But to be honest, if you knew that four SWAT men with their guns pointing at you or coming through the door, would you Kung Fu them? No, of course I wouldn't Kung Fu them. Exactly. I'll just take them. Sorry. Wrongly put, all I wanted to say is not Kung Fu exclusively, but I'm saying fight techniques and tactics. So not only fighting, but let's say, like, you know, being tactical about your... Gun Fu. Gun Fu. Correct. Which is what they did in John Wick. I'm not saying that, like, I would have done the same thing Mouse does because I have no clue because I know in that situation you're in shock. You don't know what's, you know, scary. But I wonder then how much does it pay off for some people, the training in the Matrix, you know? Also Mars.

7:38You think he would maybe, like, you know, do some cool wall flips and stuff or maybe, like, bust through the wall? He's only a child. Okay. Okay. Let's talk about the guns. And he has square-y glasses as well, so he's a traitor apparently. Oh, he's a traitor. Yep. That is... That was a false bit of trivia. This is the last time I used IMDb trivia to look for... Was that IMDb trivia? Yes. Oh, they were crap. It's a bunch of falseness. I thought you made that up yourself. It's a bunch of falseness. No. Like a theory. No, I just had it in my head for a long time. And I thought it was real. Well, it's debunked. But I'm not. It's completely debunked. Thank you. Now we can tell you that IMDb is full of crap. Yep. And let's talk about...

8:19Mouse dies was the sad moment for me. It was. I never cared for Apoc or Switch. They can die. They can go to hell. Who cares? But Mouse was always sad because he was innocent, you know? Exactly. He's just a little mouse man. I think he also found himself in a situation where... I mean, again, he was kind of the opposite of Cypher, where Cypher wasn't interested in the Matrix, or being on the Nebuchadnezzar, or being on the crew. And Cypher's whole goal was to escape all that, right? Yeah. But Mouse was the opposite spectrum, where he was not necessarily interested in all this stuff, but he actually used it to his advantage, right? To whatever he's interested in.

9:00Remember, he's doing the programs, he's doing the women in the red dress, he's doing whatever he finds fun. But also hanging out with the crew, and he knows, like, oh, you know, this is a good cause. You know? Yeah. He wasn't super into it. He makes the best out of it. Exactly. But he's also pretty, like, psyched about Juan, right? Or no? I think so, yeah. He's like, oh, he'll wave a mama. But I'm saying that he's not taking it so much like... I am back. Hi. He's not taking it so much like a serious, prophetic, you know, thing. Well, we never had the chance to find out, because he died. Well, I know, but from the information we got, someone's got to die. Yeah. This actually makes... On one hand, you'll have mouths on the other, a brick wall.

9:40Well, this actually makes the threat a lot more serious, you know? This is the, you know, the... I can't talk today. Yeah. It's okay. And it makes Cypher's betrayal much more heartful, I guess. Oh, no. You know, heartful. Yeah, much more... Heartfelt or valid. Not heartful. I don't know words. Words are not my fault. Much more... I know everybody listening knows what we're talking about. They know what we're talking about. We know what you're talking about. What is that word? You mean much more... Vile or what? No. Yes. Serious. I guess, but like, there's a nice word. There's like a movie-like word for that. Oh. Significant. But it exists.

10:20Somewhere in the ether, we must open our minds. Significant. Significant. Let's talk about his shotguns, please. Because... They're not shotguns. They are. They are. Custom built, cam operated, electric driven, automatic 12 gauge shotguns with 25 shell cylinders and a fire rate of 900 rounds per minute. That's insane. It's crazy. So how many rounds were in that chamber? 24. The stock? 25 shell cylinders. 25 shell. And they're... So it's like... Fire per minute? 900 rounds per minute. So like... So like... So quarter of a minute, he'll be like out, right? Just like... Seems like it, yeah.

11:01So it's like... What is that for? Is that like for a helicopter or something? Is that supposed to be handheld? Well, okay. So apparently they were made by the weapons supervisor called John Boring. And, you know, he was the armorer in the movie. So he's the one who did all the weapons specialists. So he made those. And apparently they're just unique to the movie. They're just custom made. So like the idea could be that Mouse made them, you know? Mouse could have made them himself. Oh, like he... Oh, that's amazing because he could hack and slack a bunch of stuff in the... You know, in the construct and then like port it into the...

11:41So like a... Sort of like a hacked weapon. So these are original weapons. And that's what he goes for them. He goes exactly for them. Yeah, yeah. So those are his custom weapons. I thought they were a real gun. Now a little behind the scenes here. As an inside joke for the, you know, behind the scenes. Boring made these guns. And he named one of them A1169. And the other one L2779. And those roughly... If you look at that in, you know, lead speak, quote unquote. What's that mean? You know, like lead speak. Like where it's... Tim, give me an example. Oh, let's see.

12:22Like the most famous one is 1337, which means lead, you know? Yeah. Remember? You see, because it looks like the numbers are spelling letters. Oh, I see. You know, like, yeah. Like the letters that look like, you know. Yeah. That look like they're... Numbers that look like they're letters. Oh, like noob is N00B. Yeah, noob. N00B and stuff. Got it. And so A1169 looks like it says Andy. And the other one L2779 looks like it says Larry. So... It's basically, you know, 80s, 90s, you know, hackers. Humor. Humor, you know. Like Anski at graphics, you know? No. You know, you never hit in Total Commander F3.

13:04Nope. And then, you know, Aski, you know, this stuff. Used to be called Windows Commander. You know, this stuff, I'll link you here. Did you say Windows Commander? I said Windows Commander because that was the original name. Yes, it was. Yes, it was. Oh, that's true. It was Windows Commander. Now it's because of copyright. Now it's... Which is satellite. Total Commander. Total Commander. So anyway, there we go. There's a little trivia on those guns. Now you know. True. I never knew that. This is a piece of trivia. Oh, I know those graphics you're sending. Yes. A-S-C-I-I graphics. Aski. Yep. A lot of porn. I'm looking at it. Is it the same, like, style they used to do those little cell phone graphics in?

13:45No, that was different kind of characters. Yeah, that was like pixel art, basically. No, no, no. They were still characters, but there was also pixel art as well, yeah. But do you know the game Dwarf Fortress? Basically, the graphics are in this. You can code your graphics any way you want. You can use Aski if you want. Some people play with that as well. Dwarf Fortress, which was inspiration, that and Infaminer, for Minecraft. Oh, cool. For Notch. Nice. And Minecraft is a Matrix world of yourself that we played a lot. And we loved it. Indeed. Yes. Loved it. It was good. Loved it. We had no expense. Wow. Anyway, Mouse dies, so there's a lot of blood that comes out of his mouth, which is very sad. And his stomach.

14:25It's unfortunate he's dead. And we can see his golden locks in the real world, because he usually has a hat on, but now we see it's a young boy. Yes. Lost in the war. He's no younger than my son. Yes. Ugh. And then Tank goes, I was going to say fuck, but he doesn't. He goes, he goes, fudge. I guess part of the TV movie. Oh, that'll be it. Here we go, look at this. And then it cuts. Fudge. Fudge. So anyway, that happens, and yeah, the swats are coming in. It's scary, and it's sad.

15:06I'm very sad. It's a sad death, I have to say. It's because it's, you know, he's screaming and things, and it's not a... Yeah, it's sad. Go before. I can't talk today. Go before. Go after. Go before. Go. Go quietly. Go and multiply. Yeah. Well, cool. I mean, you know. Well, Morpheus, when he, when Mouth gets... Mouth. When Mouth. Morpheus makes the move when he looks up to hear Mouth die. You can see the look on his face is, my son. Aw. That is the look. Yeah, but he... Oh, that's good. It's a good... That's a good... Because I... Okay, we're talking about...

15:46When you cut things in the editor and you find stuff like that and you can make connections even though they're not... But I think it just makes sense in this case because Morpheus is a father figure, whether we like it or not, to the crew. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Doesn't mean everyone agrees with that, but he's just assumed the role of a leader. And so I think he takes responsibility, as we've seen, unfortunately, quite poorly. If we take consideration the previous drafts of the ones, the failed ones, but let's assume there weren't other ones. Morpheus, I think, does take responsibility and you can tell that the look on his face when Mouth dies.

16:26And it's sad. It's really sad. I'm going to start pulling things out of my butt right now. Let's hear some. So, I think Mouth was considered to be a one. I think he's, you know, he's of that sort of likeness of Neo and he's been unplugged younger. And perhaps, you know, he unplugged him thinking he's the one and he took him to the Oracle. The Oracle, before the Oracle even met him, don't bother. He's not. And then he's like, he'll die because he creates shotguns and woman in red. And then Morpheus, poor Morpheus, I mean, not Morpheus, poor mouse had to sit down with Morpheus and Morpheus had to explain to him. He's like, I thought you were the one and I told you this and that's why I unplugged you.

17:07But it seems I was wrong. And you can stay if you want, you know, or we can plug you back in or we can go to Zion. But you can stay since, you know, it's my responsibility. I don't think he ever would have told him that though. That he was the one. You can play with the computers. What do you mean he wouldn't tell him if he's the one? Of course he would like, you're the one. I'm unplugging you. Well then wouldn't like mouse already be like, Neil, you know, I used to be the one. That's perfect. Maybe he just doesn't deal with it. You know, I was supposed to be the one, you know? And he was like, uh. Until I failed the jumping program 30 times in a row. No dude, what if this mouse says this?

17:48You know, I, you know, succeeded in the jumping program. First try. First try. Morpheus wasn't satisfied. Never know. That was before Morpheus wrote his program, altered the program to make it so he only wins every time. It wasn't, there was a jumping program. It was a swimming program back then. Swimming program. So what? The 100 meter dash. That was the triathlon. Fuck. Triathlon. Triathlon. I don't even know what triathlon is. You swim, you bike, and then you run. Oh my goodness gracious. You swim, you bike, you run. Do you know what they should do? No way. Welcome to the triathlon 2020.

18:28Swim, bike, run. Yeah. Swim, bike, run? That's ridiculous. You swim, and then you bike, and then you run. You have to be so fit. One big race. In that order. It is the fittest of the races. Of the races. Well, I would love to swim. Do you know, actually, one of the sports I would love to do that by the end of my life. Triathlon? To do the whole thing. Oh, triathlon. Tim, I would do the triathlon. I'm just too scared of swimming. That's my problem. Biking, running, I could do that. Tim's not good at anything. I could, I love swimming. It's always like a river. It's not like swimming in a pool. It's like, oh, cross the... Oh, across the... The path. The channel. This channel, yeah. Cross the channel, bike for about 100 kilometers, and then run another marathon. And then die. Can I drink Gatorade in between? Yeah, yeah, sure. Cool. Drugs.

19:08Change blood. Or drugs. I would want to do the skiing and shooting. Huh? Oh, yeah. I remember watching that. Just think of Bugs Bunny or something. I would totally do that. That looks actually pretty relaxing. Like, you just ski a little bit, you know, it's nice scenery. Um, winter, snow, wonderful. And you ski, and then you guess what? Time to shoot. And it's just fun. You can practice just going, how could, can I get this? Is that like the whitest sport that ever existed? Probably. Or like golfing. The golf is good. Golfing, I hate golfing. Or hunting, like, foxes. That's another white man's. I would kill all the foxes for fun. I was listening to a podcast about golfing. It was just ridiculous. Because like, it's like, you know, people who play golf are basically just rich people.

19:48I like mini golf. Well, there used to be Scottish people. Yeah? Because it used to be Scottish people. There used to be a Scottish, Scottish, Scottish sport. No way. What's the official name of the skiing and shooting? Skiing and shooting. Scooching. I don't think that's correct. Scooching, yeah. Let me look it up. Scooting. Scooting. Scooch. You better scoot. Are you ready? You better scoot, you bastard. Biathlon. What? No. Yes. Biathlon? Biathlon is a winter sport that combines cross-country skiing and rifle shooting. Biathlon, it's like doing two things at the same time.

20:28It's like pooping and peeing at the same time. I do a biathlon and a biathlon every day. Yeah, but you do a biathlon of pooping and leaving the house or whatever. I don't know. No, pooping and peeing at the same time. Why am I so gross? What is this? That's the biathlon. What's gone? What's wrong with this podcast? What's wrong with this? We're mourning the death of a hero and then you start talking about pooping and peeing at the same time. Yes, it's terrible. Urinating and defecating. It's turning into the other podcast. Yeah. Yeah, it is. It is. Well, let's go back to... Well, see, this is what happens when I don't have notes. That's a good point, actually. That's a really good point. Yeah. Think about it if I never had points. We would have been done... Points. Notes. Get your points. We haven't been done in episode three.

21:09Yeah. He's just talking about all kinds of random stuff. Okay, Tim, now's an opportunity to say thanks to Phil. Wow. We're keeping the show on track. Wow, guys. Just so we can apologize for our... Yeah. Thank you, Phil. We can make up for being mean at the beginning. Okay. We now realize that there are errors and are making fun of you as well. Because we would just be talking about nonsense. Which we do. Now the audience is like, we kind of like the nonsense. Good. Then we can keep going. So buy Bitcoins. Then we can say it's all Phil's fault. Yeah. Phil has a meeting in 45 minutes. Okay, quick, quick. This is it for this episode, I think. Yes, it is. I'm sorry these episodes are short, but what else can we say? Just the tank is dead. Stop saying sorry. Oh, okay. Okay, so... Tank is dead? No. Mouse is dead.

21:49Oh, yeah. Tank is not dead. And the swats come in. Tank dies off screen. And the swats are about to get our heroes upstairs. We'll be vigilant to see what happens next. The vigilant. In the next Matrix Minute. Next time in the Matrix. We haven't done this in a while, but we have a Facebook group. You go to Matrix Minute in Facebook, and there's a lot of people talking. You can join conversations. That is a lot. There's a few people talking, but... Join, join. You can press the join button. You can beat a lot of people. The answer is the red pill. Super easy. You're in. And then you can hang out and chill out and talk and ask questions. Seriously, if you want to ask anything on there.

22:29We usually reply. Or comment. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, here's the thing. If you enjoy just listening and don't want to be vocal, that's totally fine. Yeah. But if you're like, oh, maybe I should write or something, but I don't know. And the great thing about the group is that... Look at us. We're idiots. We can't talk, and we have a podcast. Yeah. So don't be scared of you voice your opinion. Yeah. We're not here to be judgmental. We're here to hang out. And I want to say that... And talk about this movie because we live it so much. The discussion group is you don't have to worry about anything being public. It's completely... It's a closed group. So it's just us and people who listen to the podcast. Yeah. So there's seriously no pressure and no worries. Yeah. We'll, you know, like to strike up a conversation because we probably miss a lot of stuff because we're talking about bitcoins and pooping and peeing at the same time. Exactly.

23:09And also, what I would love to if any of you guys out there, if you'd like to comment on some things that, like we mentioned before, that we got wrong or misinformation that we're spreading like a disease, tell us. Like the stupid IMDb trivia. I hate it. Exactly. Tell us what we're saying wrong. If I get Richard Jackson, we're going to talk about IMDb trivia. And correct us so the world can know the truth and not the falsehoods that we propagate. Yeah. Down with the falsehoods. You want truthhoods? I would not even deceive. I live in the truthhood. With a falsehood. I am Robin of the truthhood. And you can always visit us at thematrixminute.one. The Matrix Minute Hood. Yeah. There's not a lot of stuff there at matrixminute.one, but there's a... Just bare bones episodes.

23:51Yeah. You can find all the guests where they are. Yeah. They have cool last photos. They do. Yeah. You can take a survey. Bye. Bye-bye.
