0:00Welcome to the Matrix Minute. Yes! Welcome, Philip. That's the show I'm doing. Okay, I watched the wrong minutes. Okay, carry on. Where we talk about the Matrix one minute at a time because we just love this movie. Did I get it right? Yep. Nice. Professional. Nailed it. I'm Philip. I don't have trivia. I'm Jake. I, you know, you know me. No trivia. I'm Tim and I had a trivia and I forget. Wait, wait. Let me think about this. Um, I don't. I've had one. Never mind. I failed. Great. Good job, Tim. Welcome, George. Back. Hey, thanks. I have a trivia.

0:40Oh, perfect. Yeah. This is called a movie. Ah. Oh, I like it. Also known as film. Short for moving pictures. Yeah, right? Did you know it's interesting that- Oh, I didn't know that. I actually didn't know that. I wonder why it's called a movie. No, no relation to movement or anything like that. I just know that the word movie is more of an American term and film is typically more British, though of course it's interchangeable and everyone uses both now. We have to get into it. Yeah, British is called a flim flammy movie booby. Flimmy film. Flim flammy. It's short for filmatorium. Yes. Oh. The flappity doo. Which is where they used to show movies.

1:20Really? Oh, yes. The filmatorium. No, I'm kidding. I'm just making that up. I was like, man. More revelations. The flim flam dingle wingle. That's right. Or maybe it's short for- Short for kids. Hi, guys. It's Friday. You can tell everybody's just being loose now. We're all over the place. Yeah. Absolutely. It's all good. It's minute 142. We're done. It's finished. Is it the end? Actually, no. Let's just finish here. Let's leave it on a cliffhanger. We're done with the Matrix Minute. Episode 53. That's it. Imagine that. How does it feel, George, to be the guest on the final episode? You know what? It's such a good feeling no matter what podcast you're on. To be the last guest. That's cool. You have the final word. In honor of George, our last guest.

2:03We're finishing the Matrix Minute. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. And we'll catch you never. Bye-bye. What happened to Rebecca? Rebecca? Rebecca Black? She tried to cash in on that whole, you know, it's Friday and then she did a song with Katy Perry. I feel like she got just about as much fame as she deserved for having that ridiculously awful song. Yeah. It's catchy though. You can't deny that. She tried. Yeah, but. So's herpes. You don't want it. That's true. I always love when somebody, something goes viral and they have no idea why it got viral and then, you know, they get a bit of money out of that and they hire all these lawyers and all these PR people and you can see them going, especially when they, trying, especially when they try with traditional media and it's just like, guys, like they're not interested.

2:45You know, you go on the talk shows and everywhere and it's like, you got about a couple of weeks until everyone moves on to the next meme. Like the Chewbacca mom, remember her? The Chewbacca mom. Oh God. Yeah. That was like a one minute of. Yeah. Yeah. I see George knows. Do you guys know about the Chocolate Rain guy? What happened to him? Oh yeah. He still pops up here and there. He was on recently. I have a question for you guys. Because I never figured this out. Right? Yeah. Was he popular because the song was good or was it because it was bad? I think it was bad. Okay. I wasn't sure. It was like a Rebecca Black bad, but people loved it because it was bad type thing. Okay. Because I wasn't sure. Because he didn't sound bad to me. Like he sounded okay.

3:26I think there was the song, the, like the theme and the lyrics that were a bit off. And then there was the whole thing. He moves out to be like, he was doing it professionally. It's a song about Chocolate Rain. You know, it was like, and also it is like, it has a catchy kind of tune. So that always helps, you know, to kind of keep it, keep it in your mind. The funniest thing is like what I was talking about, the moving from like a viral video to a traditional media. Is there, oh man, I don't know. Like I don't know my Instagram feed. If I look at suggestions, there's all sorts of weird stuff because it's giving you suggestions of what people you follow, what they watch. And I always get weird stuff. And there's one thing that was like, cause I have, my family's a bunch of moms and they were following these videos of this mom who's like exercising.

4:06Exercising while she's helped with like cleaning the house with the kids and everything. And the funny thing is all those videos on that Instagram were sped up. So it kind of looked fun. You know, like it was like, you know, three times sped up. So like she's exercising, she's throwing things. And the kid throws her like, like a laundry and she kind of lifts up the laundry and gives it back. And it kind of, when you're looking at it like that without sound, it's like, oh, this is such a fun mom. And then they did a video like on the news on her, but they showed it all in like actual, like 60 frames per second, natural motion. It looked so damn awkward. It completely lost the vibe and the feeling what that was like, why was it popular?

4:47It was just awkward. It's just this mom, like holding on to a counter and like doing pushups. And it's like, what is this? Why do they show it in normal motion? I don't even know what you're talking about. They filmed the sections. I'll link you to both. Well, if I find the both things, I will not. I'm lazy. Put it on the Matrix, you know, our little show notes. So it's very important to like, you know, like movement. Here's another thing. Acting in slow motion is so much easier. Never mess with the director's vision after the fact. Action is so, acting is so easier in slow motion. You can, if you have a bad actor, like in a music video, just put them in like double slow motion. Anything he'll do will look amazing. He'll look majestic. Especially if people do like really crazy, like reactions in slow motion, because that's the reality you perceive.

5:30It's just so awkward always if they can't sell it. But in slow motion, doesn't matter. You can do whatever you want. It looks real. That's true. There's my lesson. Or if you speed it up, then you don't even see it because it happens so fast. It's already done. You can be a super mom on Instagram. But do you have to say that I watched a video a while ago of Rebecca Black? Yes. And she, she improved. I have to say in her defense. Yeah. She's just, I think she's like, it's not bad. I have to say. Her singing. Well, I also think that like versus the original video that she became famous for, she actually started trying. Yeah. Other people kind of like. I think the whole video is just for fun. It was made by some. Rich parents company. Yeah, I think so. Yeah. It's the rich parents incorporated thing where they, like some rich parents.

6:14Like there's a bundle pack. Yeah, they pay for a bundle pack of a song and a music video. And. I really hope you use that music for the outro music. Oh. Well. Okay. Special episode. Special request. Write that down. I know. I know. I know a person who's like famous for something bad like that. It's a, it's a local, there was this like local viral video of this check. We're at Tim. We're at. And it was a check instructional video for the McDonald's. Like, you know, like when they, they play it for you when you're getting the training and it's like this really corny. It looks like a porn production. They're like, oh, don't forget the pickle and everything.

6:56And it was like in check. And I, and, and it was, it was virally here because it's hilarious. Don't forget the pickle. It sounds like a porn thing. Yeah, exactly. It's like, and they're acting. And the girl who's the, like the trainer there. Well, we saw the video and then a friend of mine, like, introduced, like, oh, this is her. And I'm like looking at her like, who's this? And he's like, oh yeah, she's from the McDonald's thing. And it's funny. She's just like, she's like, ah. Yeah. Anytime someone mentions like, she doesn't want nothing to do with it. Cause she was trying to be an actress and she's just like, oh, don't even know. I just wanted to tell her is like, hey girl, don't forget the pickle. Yeah. Well, I think the best training video. Yeah. I'm serious. Like, it's like, you should listen to the Mogwai Minute. They just go off the rails. Really?

7:36Yeah. Definitely not. You know, like, we're like smiled. Yeah. Or smiled. Smiled? What? Yeah. I just remembered. Yeah, that's right. There was a lot of, it's like, we already covered, just talking about this, we covered about a third of the episode. Wonderful. I don't think, what did, what did happen in here? I don't know. I don't know either. Oh, there's talking. I see a little silhouette. Hey. Scaramouche. Scaramouche. Will you do the Fandango? Thunderbolt and lightning. Very, very frightening me. Galileo. Galileo. What? That's awesome. She won't shut up. She'll just go. Galileo Figuero Magnifico. I'm just a poor assistant. Nobody loves me.

8:16It's just a poor assistant. Okay, I'm going to shut her up. That's awesome. Okay. Welcome back, George. It should go on forever. I want to hear the high notes. Hey, I'm back. We should probably see this, watch the minute. And we should watch the minute. Yeah, we should do that. Okay, you guys ready? You can watch the minute first. Okay, so. Tell us what happens in minute 53. A powerful hand gesture from, gesture or gesture? Gesture. A powerful hand gesture from Morpheus kickstarts another fight, and he tries to get Neo to stop trying to hit me and hit me. Neo shows impressive feats of speed after, and finally gets the upper hand. Neo knows what Morpheus is trying to do. Free his mind. Morpheus orders Tank to load the jump program, and the jump program is loaded beneath their

8:57feet. Awesome. Booyah. Woo! I was going to say something, but I've forgotten now. That's okay. We got the Yoda quote. What? The Yoda quote? I guess. I guess. So we were going to ask Jacob, the philosopher expert and the studying academic. I'm an expert, my friend. Yeah. Because I remember always my brother going like, no, it wasn't my brother. It wasn't my sister. They're like, oh, it's just Eastern stuff. It's like, oh, again, you know, freeing your mind and, you know, like, don't. Yeah, it's the Yoda stuff, isn't it? Well, here's the thing. Don't try, do it. I won't even pretend to know. Give it your best shot, Jacob. What exactly is Eastern philosophy. But I think the difference is in the approach of Eastern philosophy.

9:41So in Western philosophy, there's this tendency to put a lot of emphasis on intellect, right? So it's the idea of we think through things. And typically you think of philosophers as people who are sitting down. I think, therefore I am. Exactly. And we just. I can't do that. Philosophers think around. They sit around and think. You know that classic statue of that guy just thinking? On the toilet. That's sort of, I think, a good advice. Western philosophy. Yeah. I get you. Okay, I see. And I think Eastern philosophy has had a tradition of sort of combining both the. Like, I think there's less of a tendency to separate.

10:23There's less of this dualism, right? Like, you know, like you just mentioned the Descartes thing, right? Yeah. The mind and body. And of course there's different schools in philosophy that might not agree with that. But traditionally I think that we usually think of it as an abstract kind of thing. Yeah. And in Eastern philosophy I think there's definitely a combination of training your body. Training. Of, you know, also using the intellect. But also, from what I know, just the little I know, is there's a lot more emphasis on a, what's the word I'm looking for? Or like a wholeness to it all. Like a one holistic approach. A yin to the yang. There you go.

11:03There you go. Like a holistic approach that includes everything. Even the universe and us and all these types of things. Right. But I don't know much about it. I mean, like if you look at, you know, the pooping man statue. You know, he's thinking about, oh. That's the official actually plaque. The pooping man. Is this poop real or is it not? Well, in, you know, Eastern you don't have that guy. Usually the statue is meditating, you know. And meditating is about experiencing yourself. Exactly. And not going on tangents of, you know, smart and intellect. But it's like experiencing yourself. Yes. It's not about questioning what is real. It's accepting everything. That's something like along the lines of, I mean, we're completely just generalizing here.

11:44But it's along those lines. But it's great because this movie has everything, you know. It has all the schools. And even though it's just the spices that's added to this movie. But it's great. I think this is more along the lines of Schrodinger's poop. Like it's like it is until it happens. So like you can't be the one if you're trying to think about how to be the one. I like that. That's true. Experience the action of pooing. Don't think about it too much. That's how you free your mind. And your bowels. Exactly. We'll follow. But yeah, I like that they do incorporate that stuff. And I think this scene is an example of that more Eastern flavor. Yeah. Yeah. So don't think you are.

12:24No, you are. And then he does the nice, the hand gesture. Which I love. Like that's like straight like Jet Li, Fist of Legend, Bruce Lee. Like I love that. Just like a little bit of a taunt. Like come at me. Yep. It's perfect. It's part of the pose. It's everything. Yeah. And obviously that's going to be reflected later on. Stop trying to hit me and hit me. So he's getting more, you know, like Morpheus is trying to get him to. My question is, do you think that Neo is not wanting to hit Morpheus out of courtesy? Like he's kind of afraid he doesn't want to hit him? No. Or do you think he really can't hit him? I think he can't. I mean, he's trying to. I mean, he can't until this moment.

13:05And then he sees he can. And then he holds back, which is interesting. Oh, yeah. Good point. Because then he's like, I see what you're trying to do. Yeah. Yes. Okay. Then do it. Rather than like, oh, you almost got me there, Morpheus. What's my second question? I still to this day do not know what Neo is meaning by I know what he's trying to do. What is he asking? Or what is he saying? I think he just means at this point he's trying to goad him into exceeding his own expectations. But that is what he's trying to do. So I don't see why he's acting like he just caught him out on it. I don't know why he's saying it like that. His delivery is a little bit weird. He's trying to do it. Like, I know what you're trying to do. You don't like that airline? This line always got out of my nerves. I'm like, he's trying to teach you what he's got superpowers.

13:45Exactly. Do it. So that confuses me and has confused me forever. I think it's just the delivery is all wrong because it's like, I know what you're trying to do. Like, I guess that would confuse what you were asking. Like, is he trying to hold back not to hit Morpheus? Because, you know, he's a peace loving man. But to be honest, I think it's just that, you know, he's like, he understands. And the line would have been better. Thank you, sensei. Now I understand. Yeah. It's like, I know what you're trying to do. It's like, I'm not trying to sneak you into a van with some candy. I'm trying to show you how to become who you are. So stop being so accusatory. Do you know, I always thought for the last, I don't know, 16 years or so, I always just automatically thought like, oh, Neo is saying, you're trying to control me or something like

14:25that. Oh, like given like a, he's, he's, he's kind of like, he's, he's trying to box Neo in or something. I don't know. I always thought that like when I was a kid, I was like, Morpheus is trying to control him for his own purposes. Like, you know, maybe Morpheus wants you to do one and Neo's like, you're trying to control me into doing your bidding or whatever. Uh-huh. You're trying to make me into a super so-jump. Yes. Yes. But even that, like, what are his options? Okay. Well, you kind of like following this path and do your thing and like try to become this person that he thinks you are, or you go back and be a battery. Exactly. I don't know. But I think what you guys said earlier was the correct answer. We said a lot of things. I don't know. Is this going back to what's going on?

15:07The whole thing that his delivery was, was quite odd. Oh, he was actually saying like, I know what you're trying to do. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Sometimes I think we forget that Keanu Reeves is not the best actor. I know. I have to say. He's doing his best he can. I say this for every, like, every time we have a new guest, I always keep saying that I really love Keanu Reeves is acting because for some reason he fits so perfectly and he is like this whole time he's been acting very well. Like it's subdued. It's natural. It feels like exactly what it has to, how it has to feel compared to all his other performances in the past, which were wow.

15:47They drew attention to themselves. Yeah. And, but now, now we're getting a little bit of that old Keanu, like you were mentioning George. Like, yeah. I think what, what that sort of like fits this is like, he, he came out of nowhere for this. No one expected, like, who are you going to, are you going to put, you're going to put him, you're going to put Ted in a movie about action movie? What? No, it's ridiculous. And the thing he did so well was because there was like such a, like a, like a low burn to his acting style. He wasn't really like a, you know, he was either wild, crazy, like you would try to go in between and just, you just didn't buy it. He doesn't. Yeah. So he just happened to find like a role that really fit his sort of like base state, I think.

16:29And, and, and sort of, it really married well together. Yeah. Nice. I think so. I want to get to wobbly hands. Please. Cause I was going to say, let me just, let me just put my, my statement out for the record. Go ahead. Go ahead. I have always hated these stupid fists. They're so ugly. Yeah. Let's talk about the fists. They're so ugly and they're so out of place. I think because they don't match the style of the shifty multiple arms that we see later, which are, I'm completely fine. I like them. So the Smith ones. The Smith ones. Love it. But this. Oh, okay. Is. Is it different? I think this was, this was something that harkens back to some of the nineties anime

17:12that we had with, um, when the action scenes happen, they would usually draw multiple fists just to show a, I get the idea. Oh yeah. The scene of elevated sort of, um, uh, speed, you know, I get, that's the thing. I get the idea, but I think the, how it looks has always bothered me because they didn't nail it. Come on. He's just learned. This is the first time he's ever done it. He's going to get better at it. His first multiple fists. He's practiced. This is his first time he's done super wobbly fists. This is true. This is true. Look at the, he, he does a little, little like Johnny Bravo move here with the many fists. He's like E-Honda with his, oh yeah. But then. Oh, wait a second. Sorry guys. Wait a second. I'm so sorry. I am so sorry. Are we talking about his, his, um, his shady, uh.

17:54No, the wobbly fists. The multiple fists. The multiple fists. The E-Honda multiple fist thing. But then he goes, he pulls a punch and you can see one of his fists multiplies to like eight fists. Is that supposed to mean like the fury of the eight fists? We're talking about that one. Sure. Eight fists of fury. I never noticed that one until now. What? What? I never noticed a hundred fists. I did not notice this. Because it's too quick. Tim, they're like right there. Look at them. I never know. What is, what is that? That's what we're talking about. I don't believe this. What movie were you watching, Tim? The Matrix. But I never noticed this multiple fists. I just kind of like. It's. The motion of the Johnny Bravo move kind of moved. Yeah. Okay. That was weird. We're talking about the multiple fists.

18:35That is weird. That's supposed to be like. Well, that's the thing though. You have the two sets. You have like the, the one, two, left, right. I like that. They're always on like the right side of the frame. I like that. And then you have like the hold back. And then that's where it splits as well. Like the little refractal fist fist thing. That is so weird. What is it supposed to mean? Like he punches him with the power of 18 fists or what's going on there? I think it's like a visual emphasis of like power. But. I've never seen notice that. That's one of the questions for the Wachowskis. What does the multiple fists mean? Just ask him like that. McFly, you can't punch Morpheus unless you got power. Yeah. Exactly. But because I think that, I think it would work if we had more multiple fists. What?

19:15More instances. Oh, more instances. Then we go, I see. I like it. But it's introduced just in a second. Well, I think we know what kind of adult content. Jacob likes the multiple fists. You revealed. The more the better thing. You heard it here, people. None more fists for me, thanks. It's all revealed. Yeah. True. All true. All true. Allegiant. I love the wide shot where his fist comes right in front of his face. And Morpheus does a great expression there. Whoa. Crazy. That's a cool one. It's the first time you can see Morpheus kind of being worried when the multiple fists come out.

19:55I mean, wouldn't you? I would be very upset if that was coming at me. Definitely. Yeah, probably never seen that before. That's why he's like, how do you do that? Like, tell me your tricks. I don't know that. But there's the little face. But you can even notice on Morpheus, Neo is drenched in sweat. And Morpheus is not even a drop. He's just perfect. That's because he's still attached to his endocrine glands in his mind. Ah. Or he just learned how to master the ways of not sweatiness. Maybe he just doesn't sweat naturally. Wow. He's not a sweater. All right. He just mists. He glistens. Once a day, he evaporates.

20:35It's just like a poof. And that's it. That was my sweat. So he's saying he's trying to free your mind. Morpheus is the mister. Yeah. Mr. Morpheus. Mr. Morpheus. So what? He's trying to free his mind. You know what I'm trying to do? Because I'm trying to free your mind, right? Yeah. And the rest will follow. And this is my favorite line. One of my favorite lines in the movie. The jump program? Nope. I can only show you the door. Oh, yes. You really want us to walk through it. I just love that. I love that phrase. Because I think that phrase applies to anything. What is the origin of that? I want to check that. I guess probably used in like some kind of spiritual. Yeah, probably. Let's see. I can only show you the door.

21:16Is that Aladdin? You're the one who has to fist through it. I can show you the door. Splendering. That sounds a little bit like a split up there. I know that when I was a kid and I was standing in front of the TV, my dad would say, you make a better door than a window. What? What? I don't get it. Yeah. You make a better door than a window. I mean, it's like you can't see through a door, but you can see through a window. And me standing in front of the TV is a meaning. Oh, I see. I see. So I grew up in the southern United States. We'll put it that way. So we have all sorts of colloquialisms that don't really translate globally. Yeah. That makes sense now. I don't know if this makes sense translated, but back where I grew up in Serbia, the question

21:57is, oh, I guess that's a classic one. You're not made out of glass. That's the one. But I love, here's a funny one. Do you guys ever had the one like, were you born on a boat thing? Do you know what that means? No. No. I was born in a barn. Oh, yeah. But barn? Because when you forget to close the doors. Yeah. Ours is on a boat. Yeah. Interesting. On a chomit. I've never heard that one. The boat one. Yep. No. I was, I was, my mom would always say like, your daddy wasn't no glass blower. Hmm. Which means I wasn't translucent, I guess. Oh, okay. I get it. I barely, I stood in front of the television a lot when I was a kid. I just had all sorts of these euthanasms thrown at me. You're just walking by and you're just completely entranced.

22:39But, you know, at the moment. Just eclipse the television. Just stop. Right. Just whatever you're doing. Another one, our grandpa. Yeah, we have a grandpa. He would say, the money's burning. Turn off the light. That's the one. Oh, right. Okay. Yeah. Mine would say like, I'm not paying to cool the whole county. Oh, okay. So if you put the door open and the air conditioner is on. Yeah, I don't have any colors. So it's interesting, like they all mean the same thing. It's just they're coming out differently. Yeah. That's really interesting. I like that we're having these two different countries. Crazy. Colloquialisms. So I didn't find anything about the door. I'm going to look somewhere. I mean, all we have left is tank, load the jump program.

23:20All we have left is tank, load the jump program. Tank, load the jump program. All I can say is I love that shot. It's interesting how well these minutes chopped out. Like where the ends of these minutes always were like on a line. They weren't like halfway through. They weren't like, you know. Well. They really did fall out nicely. I guess they followed that like the cut minute thing that, you know, sometimes we find when we do this. Yeah. Cut on the minute. I have to tell you something. And this might go off record because I've actually. I think you mentioned it on record, Philip. I have. I think so. I have actually chopped them myself. And they sometimes. Yeah. So I complete sentences and try to keep it within that one minute. So it might go one minute, three seconds or 59 seconds, depending on.

24:03Gotcha. I know. I would always just like, I let the program do it. And then like we'll follow some. And the thing is, we found that in some movies I've guessed it on where like they're very metronomic. And like the way like, like just they're broken up almost in a minute by minute chunk. And like so you don't have to do anything other than hit the button and you'll get these like little encapsulated scenes. Or others are just like chopping off words and chopping off glances and cutting away. And so it's a weird. It's another way to look at the minutiae of the editing process when they fit like that. Someone really paid attention. That's so true. I didn't realize. I think down the line, the podcast minute, it'll be like a civil war where, you know, the one faction, the cutists and the realists will be fighting.

24:46The purists and the... The purists. And the... Choppers. No, what's the word I'm looking for? Innovation. The bellicists. No, what's the word where it's like improvisers? Oh. The improvists. The improvists. Sure. Chopping. The artistic licenses. Yes. You must leave a sentence for it is not complete. Well, we've already got the three minutes and the five minute, you know, like schism. What are these heretics? What's going on here? Three minutes a week. What is that mess? They should do a... We should find out how many of the minutes, movies by minutes do three and how many do five. That'd be interesting. There's probably like a dozen or so that break it down three. I know. I think some of the older ones do five because they pulled it from the Star Wars Minute model.

25:28And then... Was Star Wars Minute three then? I thought it was one. No, that was five. Five minutes. Was it? Yeah. At the beginning. Oh, wow. Oh, yeah. No, it's always been that way. Hmm. Oh, wait. Okay. So the three thing is sort of newer. Oh, I completely... I thought... I misunderstood. I thought they're doing an episode where it's five minutes. No, no, no. Analyzed per episode. No, no. I was getting my pitch for it ready for this. This is heresy. Just five minutes an episode? That'd be so short. Five minutes... Oh, no. That's interesting. I really didn't know that, the differences. I thought it was kind of random. Me too. What about one episode a week? Oh, man.

26:08Three years. Well, I know. I think that... It's a life journey. I think that Godfather Minute is only doing like two episodes. They're doing it like one episode or... It's some weird, very drawn out thing. Wow. Because Alex Robinson's got a really big schedule. So it's not anywhere near the traditional format. It's still minute by minute, but it's a very... It's going to take a long time to finish that movie. Right. I think it'd be kind of cool to do, instead of like a minute by minute, it could be like scene by scene maybe, or maybe even like chunks, like 25 minute chunks. You can do it, man. 20 minute chunks. No one's stopping you. Chunk by chunk. Chunk by chunk. Well, there's a five minute... Like five minutes of trouble did five minute chunks, and then two minute Terminator did two minute chunks, and that sort of thing. Cool.

26:48T2 me too. Shout out to Terminator Minute, because they actually gave us a comment on iTunes. It was awesome. One of the best comments ever. Nice. So, going back to the minute. Yeah. Jump program. I want to analyze them jumping down, because you have this plate. There's no jumping here. No, no jumping, but them being loaded. Okay. Go. So they're being loaded in there from above. You can see the whole map of the city. It looks like a microscope. Do you see that? Yep. And there's like a little green little shine on the building. Right. Do you think that they're loading that? What's happening? Why is that shining? Is that... Oh, are they... Like... Because that's where he falls later on, isn't it? Are they checking... Like, adding like a little field?

27:29Like, I don't know what's happening. I don't know, actually. Do you think this is from the Matrix? Do you think they're like... No. Like, copy-pasted a place from the Matrix, and they like load that up, and then the program, what it does, the next part of the script is to change the floor to be Wubble Bubble? Mm-hmm. That's what the little green thing indicates. Yeah, they copy-pasted it, and they modified it for their needs. Yep, that's like a script. He runs it. Yeah, because he says it's a program, so it's probably a specific... It might not even be a real building anywhere. Exactly. It's just a rooftop that's a certain number of feet up from the ground and close enough in proximity to another building for the land. Exactly. But it's wonderful, like, how visual, like, how that feels to be loaded in a program instead of, like, generating around them, you know, like the classical modern movie

28:11where, like, things, like... What's great is if you pause it right after about 55 seconds and you look at the building, it almost is like the little ones and zero, like, graphic. It's like you can sort of see it, like, streaming out from the side of the edge of the building. Mm-hmm. Sweet. Look at that. Well, yeah, you're right. It's magical. Yeah, I just love that transition where it kind of the camera follows them, and then it kind of pans out in this extreme... Yep. And there's a little wind. I think it's CG. Aren't they CG here? I think they're blue screened in, but yeah, I think... They look pretty CG to me, man. Yeah, well, the guys, when they're placed on, I think they're probably CG guys. Oh, okay.

28:52Sure. But I don't think they did any CG doubles. I don't think they actually modeled any CG doubles back then, especially because it was 99. But look how blurry they are. Yeah. Yeah, they saved all that for the sequels. Yeah, they definitely saved that for the sequels. That was just pure... Pure butter goodness. They could have made the sequels just all CG. Yeah, like Final Fantasy. Exactly. They basically did. Yeah. You know? Yeah. Oh, I remember my trivia. Wow. Just, just, you know. I saw the new Blade Runner. Don't spoil anything. Don't spoil it. I'm seeing it next weekend. But no, I'm just... It's not about the movie. But funny thing is that I... Today, I know... That was yesterday.

29:32And today, I noticed that Denny, the director, he did a similar thing to what Wachowski did with the Matrix, is there are things that reference in the new movie that happened between the old movie and the new movie. And they're sort of integral part of the story, but they're kind of mentioned briefly. And, you know, they played it apart. But if you want to know what exactly happened, he did this thing, like, similar to what Wachowski did with the Animatrix, that there's these shorts. There's one anime and two live action shorts. Really? That's awesome. That have, like, the in-between stuff, a little bit of history. Like, one's tied to closer to what the movie is. One is, like, the Animatrix. I mean, there's, like, history of what happened.

30:14You know, like, this big event, this cataclysm. So, it's, I love that somebody utilized this after a while. Interesting. I didn't even know that. Yeah. Wow. So, if you watched it. I just watched the original Blade Runner last night again. Okay. Which cut, though? The final cut. Okay. All right. Not the one with the narration. I think. Yeah. No, no, no, no, no, no. None of the extra. No, no. We saw a clip. I was down at the front. And that was just. So bad. I was. There was an interview asking if he had tanked the narration just so they wouldn't use it because he didn't like it. So, he's like, did you just deadpan it? And he's like, no. I read it to the best of my ability. It was just really bad narration. Whoa. He just called it out.

30:55Amazing. Oh, it was hilarious. It did. And you guys do know that Villanueva has been. He's announced he's directing Dune. It's like his next project is going to be Dune. What? That could be. Yep. I wonder if he's going super. Super Dune? Like his vision. Or is he going. I don't know. Dude, I love his movie. I mean, they got to get Alejandro Hodorowsky in there just to. No, they'll be all rapey and disgusting. Holy mountain. Here we come. I rape Denny. I rape him. With love. With love. Did you ever watch the behind the scenes for Dune? For that. Chorodowski? Well, I have a side.

31:36It's sort of like been in the. This isn't a self-promotion thing. It just happens to be tangential but correlating. I haven't got it off the ground yet because of certain reasons, but I'm also doing a minute by minute of Dune. Oh. You heard it here, folks. So wait. So then have you seen that documentary, the Hodorowsky's Dune? Had to have. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, yeah, yeah. It's classic. I really liked it. I liked it too. It's, yeah. It's very strange. It was good. It was inspirational. And I enjoyed it, but it also made me really glad he never got his movie off the ground. Aw. Because who needs a 16-hour Dune? I would love to have seen that version. No, I was, I'm fine. Yeah. If he animated it, maybe. That would not. Okay. But the live action, you know. Well, it could be, you know, if he was doing it now, it would be a Netflix original series.

32:20Yeah. Which I'd be okay with if they did it as well as they do the other Netflix stuff. Or a Hulu original series. All right. Speaking of The Matrix. Or Amazon. Back to The Matrix, by the way. Yeah, The Matrix. I think, I think that's it. That's it. We've ended our minute and we're finished with the dojo forever and ever. Yep. The dojo's gone. Moving on to the leap of faith. They're gonna jump. Miles is nervous. Cypher's watching, so is Trinity. Damn it. Switch. Switch and Apoc are giving him. Aren't they a couple in this? Well, they exchange looks a lot, like they're buddies. I always think that they were kind of like friends, but. Yeah. Do you think Morpheus is against like, you know, co-workers relationship?

33:03He's like, no. We jeopardized the mission. We must find the one. There's no time for love. I think he's too obsessed about the one. Well, at this point, yeah. He doesn't care. And also, I mean, Slim Pickens. Honestly. That's true. Yeah. I mean, come on. At least for heteros. There's two females on the crew. Exactly. That is true. Unless, you know, Mouse is very soft. No. It's not. It's not. Yeah. Well, the eight fists. That is true. We didn't do that too much. Yeah. I was going to say. Look at a Cypher's face. He is just stoic. He's doing the philosopher pose. Very good. He is. He's thinking. Yeah. And then tapping into his Eastern philosophy. And... That's it, isn't it? I think that's it.

33:44Anyone else? Anything? Going once? Going twice? Going Trinity. Nio wind blows into Nio's hair. Cool. At the end. See, I was looking at that and I like that because it is almost like... It very much could just be there on top of a tall building and the wind blows. Yeah. But it's almost like it gives that sense of motion. Like they've literally been dropped into the scene. Exactly. And that's like the wind from them falling. And I like that this could be either or. Without that, it wouldn't have any kind of... It wouldn't be so... Like that tactile element. It's always sometimes... Yeah. It's just something small that ties you in with the CGI world around you. I just saw the new... Little things. The new trailer for the Justice League. And I was just telling you guys on the chat, how come those movies always keep looking like

34:26green screen movies? Like there's no... It's always the characters and there's a background that's one color that looks like a green screen. Always. Like always Zack Snyder movies. Like when will it go to looking like they're part of that world? It always... There's nothing in the background. Soon. We have technology. It's happening. When he stops having everyone computer generate every single background he puts them in. Yeah. I mean there's movies who do that but it feels like you're part of it. This is just... It always feels just like a green screen. There's nothing happening that's important in the background. It's just always grimy and there's like nothing that's deserted. And it's always one color and things are exploding. That was like the worst part of... What's it called?

35:07Wonder Woman. It was so great up until the end point. It just turns into poopy explosion land. Yeah. True. Yeah. It's just like you know rubber people flying around smacking people. But I mean everything... The rest of the movie makes me like forgive it because I love it so much. Everything feels so real up until that point. Then it goes into Zack Snyder world. Wonder Woman. Oh Wonder Woman. Okay. Yeah. I missed that part. Sorry. Well Friday is pretty good. I like Friday. It's a great weekend. With that I think we're done. Gotta get down on Friday. Yeah. George let me personally thank you. It was a blast having you here man. Absolutely. Well let me personally say you're welcome because I had a great time too.

35:48Awesome. Oh yeah. It was great for me as well. Oh yeah. Okay. Moving on. Moving on. Matrix Minute After Dark. Just some quick outro stuff. Don't forget the pickle. If you have comments about these hard hitting topics. These fists. Fists and pickles and After Dark. Yeah. If you counted the fists. Topics. Yeah. Then you can post a comment on the Facebook announcement post. Sweet. Or just email us about it. You know obviously it's a sensitive topic. You know what I'm going to call the fist? Ask at the Matrix Minute dot one. The bouquet of fists. It looks like a bouquet of flowers. That's a good one. There you go. That's a good title for a Kung Fu film.

36:29Bouquet of fists. And George. Our wonderful guest. Yes. You can find him at. The Mogwai Minute. I think. Where can they find you George? The Mogwai. Like. No. All's been said. Just look for me in the Mogwai Minute. And I guarantee you. Maybe. Possibly. By the time we do Gremlins 2. Sometime next year. I'll have the website functioning. That'd be great. I wish I could be part of that one. Yeah. You know what's weird. I think the easiest to find podcasts is just like either iTunes if you use that. Or maybe just like Google it. But again. Like we mentioned. Yeah. We're on iTunes. We're on Stitcher. We're on Google Play. But you can just Google us. And we'll pop up. Any podcatcher. You'll find the Mogwai Minute. And hit that big old subscribe button and listen. Or come to our Facebook page.

37:10We have a lot of. Our Facebook group. Sorry. Not page. Group. We have a lot of fun there. You can also join our Facebook group. Yeah. Yeah. On our Matrix. Yeah. What's it called? The Matrix Collective. Yeah. Unofficial title. The official title is the Matrix Discussion Group. Yeah. There's a lot going on there. Yeah. Like there's like. I've seen now four tumbleweeds. Sometimes there's three. They're breeding. They're multiplying the tumbleweeds. They're multiplying. But you can help. You can join the community. Tumbleweeds can't type. And as a community we can sweep the tumbleweeds away. Yeah. Bring out your weed waxers. Someday. What a day that will be. No. That's why people have to join. Okay. So if you're listening. You can join. No. No. Why are we saying? There's many comments. There's lie. Lie. Lie. No. There's just so many comments. And we're very happy about those. Exactly. Think of the positive side.

37:50No, they have. Sorry. It's facebook.com slash the matrix minute. And then there's a little button on the side. It says. Group or something. Group or community. Group or something. Way to sell it. It's called. It's called something. It's community. It's community. I think. Yeah. Yeah. Click all the buttons. You'll find it. Just like open them all in new tabs. Yeah. And then just look. It's like a game. And then look for the one. Yeah. And then click the community one. And there you go. And all you have to do is hit the join button. And then answer the question. It's super easy. It's red. It's so easy. Yeah. And we made it even more complicated. And now we're wondering. I'll know what's there. And the answer is red. Yeah. Red. There you go. We just flat out say it. Yeah. Exactly. And just join it. Join us there.

38:30And we can talk. It's great. Cool. Thanks, George. Once again. Thanks, George. Hey. Thanks for having me. Absolutely. Anytime. And thanks you all for listening. Once again. Another week. Wow. It was a great week. It was an awesome week. It was the greatest week. I hope you all had a great week as well. Because it's the last episode of the podcast ever. Exactly. Wrap it up. Wrap it on a high note. Ooh, dude. I just thought of another question for a survey. Oh, perfect. We're going to add that to our survey. And by the way, yeah. Thank you, everyone, for answering the survey. We got some new results in. And we always check those because it helps us figure out what we can do better and gauge ourselves. Oh, yeah. So, thank you. So, you can always take that survey.

39:11Yep. I mean, this is a lot of promos. Yeah, it is. We don't do it that often. So, might as well. It's all the paperwork at the end. Yeah. Yeah. Just, yeah, basically to sign your rights away and everything. It's great. Thank you, everyone. Once again, we'll see you next week. We'll see you next week. Bye. Bye. Just cut out all that racist stuff. Oh, man. You mean this? Yeah, yeah. Yeah. All that.

39:51Like, the last 20 minutes. Just all of that. Toss that. They can. Yeah.
