And this sounds like I have something against Sherlock Holmes. What I wanted to say is that we went on a really dazzling adventure, me and the old Sherlock.

Oh yeah. Welcome to the Matrix Minute podcast and welcome to the shortest episode ever recorded. Yep. This is on record going to be the shortest one. You're right. Well, you want to know what's happening on Minute 110? Yes, Phil. This is what happens in Minute 110. Neo holds on to Morpheus with just his hand while his other is on the table as Trinity's failing helicopter tries to make a safe landing, but to no avail. The helicopter's going down.

1:22Morpheus and Neo securely jump off, but Trinity is going down with that choppa. As it hits a glass wall on one of the buildings, it explodes. Neo holds on to the cable and Trinity jumps off of it with Neo holding on to her. She hits the glass on the other building and the explosion. That's great. Okay. That's me. I'm done. Oh, what? You want me to talk? Yes. I don't know. Do you want to talk? Well, I can tell you that our friend Phil Osterhaus has some stuff to talk about this scene because this is the one where the helicopter hits the building and Neo is hanging on and Morpheus is hanging on. And we talked about a lot of hanging in the last one, last episode where it's just me and Tim.

2:02But in this case, we have, as they're lifting off and hanging on and hanging out. And hanging out. I want to say that from now on, this is my favorite sequence. Now I like it. Really? Just all of a sudden, it's your favorite. I watched it and I like this sequence. It's cool. It's unique. It's interesting because this whole sequence was not planned out very well. Like they honestly had... Well, guys, since we're on the topic of unique, I remember listening to a podcast a long time ago and someone said very unique. And the other person said, if something is unique, it's either unique or not unique. There are no levels of uniqueness. It's either unique or not unique.

2:43Isn't that interesting? That's true. But there's probably a sadist, that person. So anyway, this shot, this whole scene was, they didn't know how they were going to shoot it. And so when you look at some of the storyboards, they're kind of vague and it really doesn't tell you that much of like, it wasn't very specific. And this is one of the parts where they actually used little action figures and they filmed previs with just a video camera. And like they used the toy helicopter to record the motion and then edit it together before actually recording it. So that's... It's very Peter Jackson. Mm-hmm. I could just imagine Peter going with a helicopter.

3:28PJ approved. And, okay, so my turn. When Morpheus, when Neil lets go of Morpheus and he drops down into the building. Yeah, what do you think of that shot? That is a cool shot. But not only that, it's the fact that that's a pretty high drop either way. Yeah, but it's not like, it's a trick. It's a trick. What kind of trick? They didn't drop, they did not drop Lawrence Fishburne. No, I know that. I'm talking about in the film. Like, Jacob, you do know those are actors. Do you know this thing called movie magic? Well, it's just like when your mom, before we were watching Monsters Incorporated.

4:09The lines I get. And then it's sapiens, sapiens, sapiens. Ah, you shall not pass. Cut! Sapiens. Okay, go ahead. Just like when our mom told you, Jacob, don't be scared. They're just dolls before watching Monsters Incorporated. Yep. No, they're just dolls, Jacob. They won't come and eat you. But that is a high drop. What's the last movie do you guys remember being scared of? The last movie? Yeah, like you couldn't sleep or something like that. I can't remember I avoid I avoid movies that can't make me sleep oh yeah yeah you're not a big fan of the old creeper jeepers let me see Psycho really? yeah that was a long time ago scared me

4:50actually I was scared of going to showers was it like last night? no do you know what it was? and she hasn't showered since I'll tell you really quick it's not movies but I still get scared by trailers so basically there are times I just there'd be a trailer and I was thinking about the trailer I could feel like like a little pop like scares no it's just the theme the theme anyway let's keep going with this the themes of the trailer can be scary so guess what guess what yeah oh the model for the the model for the building that they used

5:31as it gets hit the bottle for the building yes it was you know surrounded by green screen and it was constructed entirely out of mirrored glass and so wait wait wait wait wait hold on where are we now what building are you talking about the building that the helicopter gets hit on but that's at the end the helicopter gets hit on we're not there yet oh why are you skipping because you wanted this to be the shortest episode you're the one who always wants to go in order because you wanted it to be the shortest episode I'm trying to get it to that my prophecy will might be I'm trying to deliver but I think we're already done we're already done with it being the shortest episode it's not the shortest you lose the Oracle doesn't even know if it's the truth or not good day sir Philip you're peaking I know premium quality

6:12when you're peaking premium peaking listen when Neo the buzzes are back shut up go on when Neo does his little twirl he's badass it's green screen it's green screen right there has to be with the twirl of the thing this is what I wanted to talk about what do you want to say listen I'm listening so this is what happens right when Neo is being pulled by Trinity falling what are you Italian when Neo is being pulled listen buddy I'm not your buddy pal so when Neo is getting pulled right he's getting pulled by the helicopter he's getting pulled off

6:53I always wondered how in the world does Trinity's weight not make him go flying off the edge of the building because he's the one he's the one no guys don't give me that crap with the one he's believing I'm just talking about he's starting to believe forget it everybody can do this in the matrix you forgot that people in the matrix you know women are light I want a cool answer well then okay it's a boring stock okay well his arm strength goes beyond the limits of physics in the matrix because he wills it to be because the matrix can codes can be bent and broken this will satisfy you go his boots have so much metal in them it makes his weight like four times and also yeah

7:34and the edge of the building is like lined with magnets that's a good one I like those two but I have a better answer how about they just filmed it like that and it just happens to be a bit of a movie shut up Jacob wow wow thanks yeah now we know we know this and we know that Morpheus wasn't actually real what do you think about those are not Neo's feet going down there you know with the angle little giving like like baby getting born and flying out of the what like in comedies like there's the movie begins and the baby just flies out of the womb and you can see it from the perspective this is a typical thing that happens in comedy stim

8:14yes and then the feet are wiggling in front of you that's what you see here Neo's you're right but babies aren't born feet first well this one is special he's the one but what do you guys think about the wiggly oh that's what you mean you mean the point of view yeah what did you want to say Jacob the wiggly building explosion yes I told you I want to quarter scale I want to tell you something some people believe in the quarter scale very dangerous and you know what they shot it out in the desert wow there's a miniature yeah are you telling me that they got that effect to work on a miniature not the the bend is CG

8:54but when it explodes they filmed it out in the desert well this was dangerous let me talk about this right took two months to plan conspiracies right some people are like no glass does not curve it is not meant to be curved that's pixels I can see pixels that's conspiracy matrix is not true some people say well it curves because it's in the matrix and it's like a it's like a metaphor how the world is unreal and it's like it's like simulation so it doesn't know what to do when a helicopter hits that's bullshit it is the truth the glass is the truth watch watch slow-mo guys I'll link it link it up it's a video

10:16does a little womb look and he goes Trinity and there's a nice shadow it's all the story beautiful shot of Trinity just like smashing into like I like those shots yes that shot the low angle shot showing Trinity getting out of the chair moving towards the hook and then doing that awesome movement where she just puts the gun out and goes I meant the one where she like the explosion is behind her oh okay sure I like the glass in front of her you don't know that exists there it's cool because it's clever you know like yeah it's great you didn't know it was gonna crack into the now gives it more it's all in the storyboards these are all the storyboards I liked it it was a good minute I like the sequence it's my new

10:56favorite sequence that's pretty interesting it's good Trinity Trinity look at me getting born with this umbilical cord weepy yeah anything else also the worst minute ever existed we're breaking records kids yeah I think it's okay there was some heated debates yeah some some conspiracies were smashed there's some arguments also it's gonna say that Neo's butt would hurt a lot oh yeah I mean you know that you know like sometimes we're I like how Morpheus is just so passive in this minute too he's just like he's just starting to
