So today I was thinking about this. The 10 year anniversary was 2000. He's not

I really, I thought you were talking about an actual jacket. I'm like black and white, like checkers. Like it's yeah. Like a kitchen, like a special jacket, you know, you just put on. I tried to look up some like articles and stuff and like news, um, pieces on the matrix. And surprisingly, it didn't seem like there was a ton, but I could have been, you know, superficial with my searches. You're talking about 2009? Oh no, now like 20 years. Oh, well now I think there's a bunch of articles. They're cropping up like flowers. Like daisies. Oh really? Yeah. Go to Reddit. There's like a, there's like a, you know, post about the matrix every day.

It came out just a couple of months prior, uh, last year, uh, sometime in November. And, um, it has a brand new film transfer. This should be the most accurate one to the original cinema experience ever. So finally get to see that doorknob and full H and 4k resolution. See that camera hidden in that jacket. But of course, oh, that's right. Yeah. That's going to be good. But of course you don't have to use the 4k edition yourself. It works on any version

14:08of the matrix as long as it's, um, yeah, just go to YouTube and say the matrix full movie and hope it shows up that too. Um, as long as it's, uh, not a pal, uh, DVD has to be NTSC. Yeah. So if someone's watching on a pal, there'll be a little bit decent, but not that much. No, not that much. I don't think we'll be talking about everything. It's the 20th anniversary. There's other people who do these movies by minutes who have a much bigger interest in the movie that they're. Wouldn't you say like a more active interest? More active interest. Maybe that's a good way of putting it. Because I was super invested in the Matrix the entire year we were doing it. But then when it was over, I felt like, okay, that's enough Matrix for now. You know, it's true. I must lay it down to rest for a bit. I agree. And I think that probably our approach was that, you know, I don't think we were like actively thinking about the Matrix all day, every day when we did the show. We were more like, hey, let's record. And then everything came to us. Yeah. Yeah.

16:58I, for one, am looking forward to seeing these clips without being turned off after a couple of times. That's right. Yeah. Yeah. Yes. I want to say, so this is the first time we've seen the film. Actually, we haven't even technically seen the film in its entirety for a long time. No. No. We just watched those clips. So 16 years. 15 years. Yeah. 15 years. 15th anniversary. There we go. All three of us haven't been in those locations together since then. I haven't been in that city since then. Oh, you're right. That's true. So it was quite bizarre. Yeah, yeah. So we went to visit you guys. We drove around on the bus and we went to visit all the locations. We recorded. We did a little... Oh, we should post that. Yeah. A little video re-enactment. But we don't have anything to reference it from. Yeah, it's true. Here's a re-enactment. You have to put them together. Someday.

19:05Yeah. So we just, for fun, we... I think we went to all the locations that we filmed. I think it was like three or four. There weren't many. No, we didn't go to the place where my pants drop. True. Yeah, we didn't do that. But it was fun. But. Right? It was great. Nice little exhibition. It felt like... It reminded me of like those things in the making of documentaries, like you know, the spaced guys. Yeah, they went to look at the old locations where they filmed the TV show. Yeah. That's fun. Years later. Coming back years later and seeing a little bit what's changed and stuff. And my favorite bit is like we're talking about like we made this amazing film. And then we went to watch it. This is what we did when we were kids. Well, yeah. Look, I was 14. Tim was 14.

19:46You know what I'm saying? That's my favorite part because we talk about these movies in such a different way. Like it's so... It sounds big. We talk about there were like some Hollywood movies that were made. And it's funny because even for... Oh, by the way, yeah. And when Tim came over... But I think that's the fun of it. We watched some of these old movies of ours. Oh, yeah. And we sort of like critique them in a more realistic fashion. And so... Yeah, something we couldn't have never done in the first 10 years. And it's funny when you look at the movies now, you know. I mean, you know, there's a lot of good stuff and there's a lot of bad stuff. Yeah. Too bad no one gets to see those movies. Okay. I wanted to say that I'm so glad, if I'm correct, that they stopped doing the crazy smudging on Blu-rays to make everyone look waxy. Oh, no. This version is beautiful. No, no. I know this one is. I'm saying in general. Like the Remove the Grain? Yeah. Oh, okay. I think they stopped that. I think that was a pagan practice.

25:53So, Philip, my question. If 1999, you would go see a 35mm projection of this movie, would the quality be close to this? It would be this. Why wouldn't it be this? This is nice quality. I feel like if you watched a fresh print. I don't know. Like 4K compared to 35. Is it almost the same? I would say so, yeah. I'm like thinking about going 8K and then maximizing the frame circumference. Because think about this. When they rendered CG effects and then they put it back onto film. Oh, look. bullet-time, by the way. Oh, look at this. Huh. You can see really Trinity's cut out. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

26:34When you would put it from CG, from digital, and put it back into film, print it back into film. And they usually would do that in 2K. And when it came down, when it was Jurassic Park, it's 720. You know what I mean? Like they really did not. Oh, really? 720 were the rendered. If not, it's 1080p. Something like that. But you put it on a 35mm then, but then the grain is like kind of over, you get the grain from 35, so you kind of mask it a bit. Yeah, but I think as far as preservation goes, 4K is more than enough to give you a good image. And for 35mm, I believe personally that this is as good as you can get it. You can do 8K, but... So sort of like you see the images and the sets and you kind of almost think about how the movie was made rather than purely the story. You don't feel the flow of the movie, but you kind of think of the individual stuff. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. It also happens when you watch a movie a lot of times. You can concentrate more on the specific scenes and the background and the context as well. But not that, but almost like you feel like, oh, I see what that would have been like when they were shooting that or what things they encountered while making the film. So let me try to, maybe from another angle, maybe you're watching this movie now as if you were Peter Jackson or the creator of the movie. Like when, you know, when you watch something that you made or you listen to something you

30:45made, you don't hear what other people hear. You hear because you were throughout the process. So maybe you have a little bit more of that now. Yeah, I think maybe it's just also being a little bit older maybe and just like maybe being a little more naturally interested in the, you know, process and how things were made and you relate it to your own life and you're like, oh wow, like, you know, this must have been a really big struggle to do this, this and that. And then you kind of feel like it's more of a, in a strange way, actually it makes the movies feel, this isn't necessarily negative, but it makes it makes them feel a little bit smaller in the sense that you feel like it's just a lot of people trying their best, you know, to make something, you know? Yeah. Pretty interesting. Because when, I don't know, when you're younger, you just, everything is just like perfect.

31:28Like The Matrix is a perfect film. It's like everything is perfect. Everything is meticulous. Everything is, you know, it can't be wrong. Everything is amazing. I was trying to get back to that.
