0:00Welcome to the Matrix Minute. I am Phil and this is a podcast where we discuss the first film one minute at a time because we love this movie. Ignorance is bliss, my friend. So welcome back. I'm Jake and update on the Steakhouse 41 in Sydney, Australia. I found different informations, but basically it seems like it's closed. It doesn't exist anymore, which is sad. I'm not 100% sure, but it seems like it is. And we couldn't really find the price for the steak, but Tim has some updates on that. Tim, let's start with this update about the steak situation. What's going on? Well, the steak situation is not clear, unfortunately. But we have some review from 2007 where they mentioned that, let's say, a lunch two-course meal would be about $65 Australian dollars.

0:52And then dinner, a four-course dinner, about $130. So, not the worst, but we can't pinpoint the price of the steak. Maybe like $40, maybe? $30, $40, maybe? I would say $40, probably, yeah. $40, $40 steak. That's a good-looking steak. Yeah, that's a nice-looking steak. A chef owner is Diamatimar Sayer. That would be about $34 for lunch and... Wouldn't that be hilarious if you actually went to Sydney and you're like asking people, $41, $41, where's that? And you get to the place and it's like, oh, no. Welcome. This is Minute 64, in case you didn't know. Hi, guys. I still have a cold. I still drink tea.

1:32I still drink tea. Oh, here's a piece of whatever, story. I guess trivia turned into story time. Okay. So, over the weekend, I was with my wife's colleagues at the sort of like a work retreat. A bunch of friends go in a cabin in the woods, play video games, drink some booze. Not video games, board games. But the theme, they also put like a theme. Last year, we were pirates. This time, it was like a movie, so you dress up. Oh. So, me and Emma, we tried a couple, like a couple costumes. Our first choice was Dipper and... What's your face? Mabel. We almost got everything. I was just missing the blue trucker hat, but I couldn't find anywhere in town.

2:16It was too late to order it online. And then our second choice was Jack Torrance and Wendy from The Shining. Oh, nice. We almost got that one as well, but I was missing the jacket and I was missing a wig and everything. So, in the end, we just went in men in black. Really? Yeah, me and Emma were men in black. But the funny thing I wanted to say was that it was hilarious. About 80% were like, oh, you guys are the Matrixes. Oh, really? Yeah, it was funny. But, you know, it's funny because, you know, Will Smith was going to be Neo and if Will Smith was Neo... Did you guys get the glasses and everything?

2:57We bought matching glasses. Oh, nice. We just got black suits and ties. We didn't have guns, but I used my phone as the, you know, the remover. The neuralizer. The flash. Black sheets, black ties. It's funny, though. It's perfect you brought this up. The agents in The Matrix, and this took me ages to figure out, they wear green suits. They did. And, of course, the agents are based on the men in black. Yeah. Okay. They're just based on the men in black. Yeah. But what's interesting is in the sequels, Matrix sequels, Smith takes on a black suit. Yeah, he does. So he becomes a true... Oh, he does? Oh. Men in black. Men in black. Yeah. Men in black. We're going to have to do something about those sequels.

3:37I'm trying to think. Maybe we can do a... You're doing specials. What are you talking about? I know. That's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying. Maybe we could do, like, 10 minutes every episode. And then we just have 10 minutes. Nope. Nope. Okay. Okay. I don't think I could take it. Yeah, I don't think I could either. How about we do specials as commentaries? Well, that's the thing. We want to figure out if we want to do commentaries or we want to do a special where we talk about, like, review. Oh, yeah. 4:58So, you have no problem thinking of characters. But, yeah. Yes. Okay, so, uh, minute 63. Welcome to minute 63. And I'm going to tell you what happens on minute 63. 5:38Ignorance is bliss. Cypher and Agent Smith talk about Cypher being reinserted into the Matrix in exchange for the entire crew. He wants to be someone important, like an actor. And that's our minute. Restaurants. Shady deals. Boom. Agent Smith. Anyway, so we begin this minute with Cypher saying, after nine years. By the way, he didn't even finish his steak. Wait, wait. Okay, go ahead. He didn't finish his steak. He puts it in his mouth. It will reveal. He does. He eats the steak. That's so great. He eats the steak. Satisfying. You waited two days for that. Oh, yes. He eats it. He chews it thoroughly.

6:18Digests it. But it's not real, so he won't be digesting it. But you can tell he's enjoying it. Yeah. He's really loving that steak. I mean, I would love that steak, too, if 41 was open. It's not. But, but, but, nine years. Huh. We get some timeline now. This is the first time I did not notice that. Yeah, nine years. Key word, nine years. It's a pretty long time. So it seems like Cypher has been... He gave his best years to Morpheus. Yes. It seems like Cypher has been trying to ignore a lot of the rules. He's in the real world. And he feels like ignorance is bliss. Which is, of course, a play on... Well, that's the reveal. The reveal is his, his life philosophy at the end of these nine years.

6:59And discovering what meaning is to him is ignorance is bliss. Which, by the way, I, when I was a kid, didn't have a clue what that meant. Well, I always thought of bliss because I remember one of the wallpapers for Windows XP. The name was bliss. So that's what I knew. I didn't know what bliss meant. Ignorance, I did. And I was like, ignorance is bliss. I was like, hmm, is he like saying something good or bad? I was like, I don't know. But it's great storytelling, I think, you know, to sort of reveal just having the shot on him and what is he talking about? And as soon as the moment where he kind of says ignorance is bliss is giving the negative, whatever answer, we get the harp and then we see them there, which is hilarious.

7:43But Jacob, guys, did you not look carefully? Look at the wide shot again. Do you see? There's another agent there. There's two other agents standing in front of them. Yes. They're staying, they're flying outside. They're hovering. It's a reflection. No, no, no. Let's them outside like Iron Man just going. It's okay. It looks like they're outside. It's amazing. But honestly, this is the interior of restaurant 41. I did not notice that. I thought the harp was somewhere completely else. And this is the first time I'm actually seeing that it kind of focuses on them too. Because it's such a sharp cut after it, you know, focuses on them. I never noticed that. So in my head, only seeing the close-ups, I had a completely different...

8:23Me too. You know, like geographic. Where are they? I thought they were like outside and behind him is like a terrace. And then this is like a street behind them. Well, I thought they were in the corner. Like a booth. Like, you know, those booths. Oh, really? Yeah. Because on DVD, when it cuts to the harp shot and we see the wide shot, them sitting down, it's so blurry. You can't even tell it's a bad one. Oh, yeah. Because it's DVD. Oh, yeah. This is the first time I am actually aware that it's them. Yeah. You know? Because like... That's hilarious. I thought it was just like, here's the restaurant and come back to them. Also, this is hilarious. He has a bottle of wine. No, he has wine from a jug. He has a champagne on the life side. It's just him eating with all the amazing things. Yeah.

9:03Clearly. Look at all these courses. Nothing. He's just sitting there. Wait. Well, look. And then, you know, Agent Smith is okay with this. He's like, the company will pay for it. So, uh... They don't pay for anything. I'm just... I'm joking. It was a joke. It's amazing. Look at this. I can't get enough of this. There's everything there. Yeah. Let's see how many courses he have. One, two, three, four. That's a lot. And Smith has nothing. Nothing. Just sitting there. Yeah. Perfect. Reveal. And it's just kind of awkward that those other agents have to stand there and stare. When was the last time? Oh, we saw him as a fake Agent Smith, right? We saw a fake Agent Smith. Yeah, that's it.

9:44And the last time we saw Agent Smith was... The beginning. Yeah, yeah, yeah. When he puts the thing up as... Unable to speak. Oh, my goodness. Here's the interesting thing. Why... How did they manage to get an Agent Smith looking exactly like Agent Smith, the one in the construct? They stole the... Codes? I guess. They just copied the skin. Yeah. They copied the skin. That's the reason. But they went to the archives? Yeah. To the Matrix? Okay. All right. Yeah. I mean, it worked for the audience, obviously. But no, they bring a little device in the Matrix and then they just point it at someone and then just copy their code and then transfer it when they get out into the real world and be like, I got the code in my residual cell phone and then you should just upload that.

10:26As they scan people. Yep. Well, I think his skin would be much more deeper in the code and encrypted or something. It doesn't seem like he would be part of the other people. Yeah. It's like easily copy-pastable. No, no. You're literally in the Matrix with a scan shotgun and you find him and you go... Yeah. I know, but you can't really... Like, that's not how it works. Of course it's not. But, like, come on. Code usually gets compiled, you know, because you can't really actually look at the code. You know, the codes get compiled and then you get something, you know... Yeah, one from zeros. At the end. So, I guess. I don't know. Sure. Who knows? We'll never know. But the point is it worked for them somehow. Oh, look, look, look. You can see after he...

11:06Well, okay. Never mind. Talk about the actress stuff, though. And then I can talk about the detail on his food. Well, so now, Cypher, he wasn't the best student. Oh, yeah. And he uses the phrase, I don't want to remember nothing. Which, you know, the machines can misconstruise the... Using some logic, they change it. You don't remember nothing. And you can just see Agent Smith, like, just start shaking. That's not compute. That's not compute. What do you want to remember? Specify what you want to remember. I want to remember nothing. It is nothing. So you want to remember something. But what is that, Cypher? What do you want to remember? If you don't want to remember nothing, then you want to remember something.

11:47That means you want to remember anything. I don't want to remember nothing is a double negative, so he wants to remember something. That's what I'm saying. Yeah. So Agent Smith is like, what is that thing? What is that thing? Nothing. Nothing. Story-wise, he's making a deal with the devil. Do you think this is a good scene to be showing the audience already? Yes, of course. To show that this is... He is going to do something bad. Because then we have interplay of being worried about what's going to happen. If we didn't, we would just be like, oh, this is fun. Do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do. This is great. You have two ways of doing it, right? One is you leave the reveal of the traitor bad guy at the end, and then it's a twist. And you're like, oh, I never anticipated. It's such a heartbreak. It's like, oh, this is so bad.

12:27Or you reveal it only to the audience first, and then they feel the sort of tension the entire time when the normal, the main characters, the good guys, don't know. And you as an audience are in on it, and then you're like, oh, no, they're going to hurt now. That's a different kind of approach to it. Also, I think twist villains work sometimes, but then you don't get to know them because everything you've been led to believe about them isn't real. So you don't really see them as characters because they just, you know, sort of twisted it. Unless they give some kind of big exposition at the end or something. I think after Usual Suspects, and I think it was another movie, like Seven, where Kevin Spacey is a bad guy.

13:09Kevin Spacey? Oh, no, yeah. He's a real bad man. But there was, I think, after the Saw movies as well, and there was this really bad trend of the twist reveal of the bad guy. And I think it got so bad. I think there's one movie, I don't know if you guys watched it. It was terrible. It was some magicians, and they do tricks, and they're stealing stuff. I don't know what it's called. But the thing is that... Here's a spoiler. Yes, yes, yes. And it's got one of these... It's not even a reveal that it's the bad guy, but it's a reveal, like, you know, oh, it was me all along.

13:49But the fact is that the entire movie where he plays this character, it makes absolutely zero sense for someone to go through that much effort to conceal their identity. It's absolutely hilarious. Like, it goes through lengths, like, this is like shooting yourself. And just, like, there's points of that person does something by himself. You see the shot, he's by himself, and he's doing all this unnecessary thing that no one sees, but it's for the audience. Like, you know, it's like, if you, like, there's some clever movies where they do the reveal, but then when you think about it, you realize, oh, we've only seen this character with other people.

14:29We haven't ever seen him alone. But there's these movies when they want to do it, but they're so lazy. You're like, what, you know, like, why would you break character and do all these unnecessary steps when you're alone? Or whatever, that's my rant, yeah. That's right. That's terrible. That's true, actually. Let's talk about, real quick, what Cypher is planning. He's saying, reinsert my body into the Matrix. Well, that was one thing also I was confused when I was a kid. I was like, reinsert his body? What are you talking about? But it took me a while to realize that he's talking about reinserting his body into the power plant. So literally, somehow, after the deal is done, after he's betrayed Morpheus,

15:11so his plan is he wants to betray Morpheus. Yeah, I get my body back into the power plant. You insert me into the Matrix, I'll get you what you want. So the plan is this. Let's just recap. He wants to betray Morpheus. He wants to turn in Morpheus to Agent Smith because Agent Smith, all he wants is access codes to the Zion mainframe. Yeah. But Morpheus only knows them because each captain of the ship is given codes that only they know. So Cypher could give him the codes, but Cypher doesn't know the codes. So Cypher goes, I can get you the man who does. I think that's in the next minute. One, three, one, three, two, two. So the plan is somehow he's going to betray Morpheus, turn him in. Now the question is, after that's done, Cypher wants to be somehow picked up by the Sentinels.

15:57Yeah, yeah. That's what I think. They pick him up and they fly him back, and then they plug him in, and then turn him on and erase his memory using some erasing memory magic. Yeah. And he's a rich man. Boom, he's a rich man. I have many questions about this. I've always wondered about this. And he's also important. I don't know what they're going to do. So here's the thing, right? Oh, like an actor? I think that was a nice joke. Porn star? Exactly. That was hilarious. While we were watching the clip, that was our joke. This is something I've always wondered about for a long time, and now I get to talk about it. Morpheus, Cypher wants to do this deal. Yeah. The biggest question is this. How in the world can Cypher guarantee this will even work?

16:39Because if he says, erase my memory, that's the worst plan in the world, because guess what's going to happen? And he goes, okay, we got him. Plug Cypher in. Okay, kill him. There's zero need for them. Don't even plug him in. It's a waste of time. Just kill him on the spot when they pick him up in the Nebuchadnezzar. But there's zero need for these machines to comply at all. So you think, that's exactly what I want to ask. If he gone through it, do you think they would go through the deal as well? No, of course not. I don't think so. Yeah? I don't think so. There's no need. The machines, okay, even if we're talking about that they have human emotions, stuff like that, ultimately, I just have a hard time believing that they would really care.

17:21Or, I think, they would simply just kill him. Do you guys think they would go back and plug him in? I want to believe that from what we've talked about with... Or let me put it this way. Let me put this way. I don't know what they would do, but I'm just saying if I was Cypher, that's a very bad deal to go for, because you have no clue. Because you can never guarantee, because if they're going to erase your memory, you don't even remember doing the deal. So you would never get to the point where you go, ah, it's finished. The deal's done. Yeah, there's just no... Yeah. Even if you did go through with it and it all worked out, Cypher wouldn't know. It's like taking care of someone who won't know about it, you know? Like, it's like taking care of a clone of yourself, you know what I mean? Yeah. Because that person will not know what you did for them.

18:03Exactly. And so you will never know. So basically, technically, Cypher could go again into a loop of being like, oh, the Matrix is real and stuff. Oh, yeah. You see what I'm saying? Like, he's basically distorting in his own timeline as a person. That's his fault. It's his fault. But I wanted to say that I believe the machines will keep their word because they don't want to be like the humans. They want to show that they're the superior race. They're going to... Okay. That's true. I don't know. They're going to uphold this deal. I'm just saying it's Cypher's perspective. Yeah. Yeah. But I think for Cypher, it's like, he's sick of it. And there's two options. Shoot yourself in the head. Or, you know, you go for the Matrix and you are...

18:46It's like, it is like killing yourself. But it is like killing yourself, basically. But going to heaven, you know. Right. But it won't be you going to heaven, basically. Yeah. It won't be you. It will be like a brainwashed character. But it's like, it's the same as killing yourself. But that's an edit bonus. Right. There'll be a happy little, you know, pumpkin. I know, but it won't be him, technically. But I like how Agent Smith goes, well, there's a little frown. Whatever you want, Mr. Reagan. Mr. Reagan. That's the thing. For me, like, I always thought... Now, obviously, this movie does portray the machines as villains. The first film, at least, in some way. Yes. And so when I was younger, I always thought, like, he's saying that because he doesn't care. He's like, whatever you want, you can be a flying monkey. For all I care.

19:27Just want the codes. Yeah. Look at everything. And then what's the other thing I wanted to say? So that's the first part. You want to be made out of chocolate so you can eat yourself every day? And then it grows back? That's about it. Well, guys, I have a treat for you. Oh, cool. Yes. We were... Promises were made. We're going into the 1996 and 1997. And alternate drafts. Today. Wait. After Cypher doesn't finish his steak. Today. He lights a cigar. Oh, yes, yes, yes. A cigar. So this is the top off his entire... Also, the steak is different from the steak in the close-up. So it's a different steak. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Differently shaped. Oh, my goodness. Looks like a dinosaur.

20:09Let's hear some goodness. Oh, you want to go... Give us the bits. Let's really play the jingle this time. Okay. Yeah, let's actually play it. Go! That was a nice jingle. Oh, it was so good. Mmm. Mmm. All jingly inside. Well, well. You want to know these alternate takes we have here? Well, I'll just tell you. And this is what has been rumored for quite some time. So, remember that one scene where Cypher meets Neo? Neo. Or I mean, Neo meets Cypher because Cypher is doing naughty things on the computer. Yes. And then he's like, whoa, you scared the bejesus enemy. And I'll tell you what happens because it's a very different discussion.

20:51And I have no idea why they even changed this because this puts some fuel on the fire with what's, you know, Tim's and Jake's and maybe many of yours conspiracies might entail. So here we go. So, interior, main deck, the core glows with monitor light. Cypher is in the operator's chair as Neo comes up behind him. Whoa! Neo! You scared the bejesus out of me. Neo goes, sorry. It's all right. Neo goes, what are you doing? Midnight watch. Neo's eyes light up as he steps closer to the screens that seem alive with a constant flow of data. Is that the Matrix? Yeah. You want a drink? Okay, all this stuff's going on.

21:32And now, Cypher says, I'll tell you, I feel for you, man. I really do. Most of us were still young, just punks. When Morpheus jacked us. Oh. But you. So, so. But you. Oh, the lingo. But you. You had a real life. Neo takes a sip. I hear the side effects. Neo takes a sip. And it almost kills him. Cypher pounds on his back. Good shit, uh. Dozer makes it. It's good for two things. De-greasing engines and killing brain cells. Red face. Neo finally stops coughing.

22:14And then Cypher goes, did he tell you why you did it? Neo nods. And then Cypher says, I'll bet he didn't tell you that this wasn't the first time he thought he found the one. Oh. Ah. What is this? Neo shakes his head as Cypher fills his cup and laughs. Let me give you a piece of advice. Between you and me, if Morpheus says you can fly, I wouldn't be jumping out of any windows to find out if he's right. Understand? Cypher raises his drink. Neo swallows another throat, scorching mouthful. And Cypher goes, welcome to the real world. Now, now listen.

22:54That's a trailer. Wait, wait, wait. It's connected to something because chamber music and the ambience of wealth soak around the room as we watch a serrated knife saw through a thick, gorgeous steak. And then Cypher says, that's what he said to me nine years ago. So you can see the transition where he goes, welcome to the real world. And there's a transition. Oh, yeah. Ah, lovely. And then the description is, the meat is so perfect. Charred on the outside. Oozing red juice from the inside. Just as I like. It could be a dream. And Cypher goes, the real world. What joke. We recognize the grating voice. The insidious laugh.

23:34You know what real is? I'll tell you what real is. A fork stabs the cube of meat and we follow it up to the face of Cypher. Real is just another four letter word. Wow. He laughs, shoving the steak into his mouth. The restaurant is located on the top floor of a Chicago skyscraper where the view is breathtaking and the menu has no prices. Of course. Sitting across from Cypher is Agent Smith. We have a deal, Mr. Reagan. And that's it. And most of it is the same. Okay. We got to get into this. Now, if you want to know something, there's a little bit of a difference with the shooting script.

24:14And I can show you that one too. We'll delve into more. And there's also another one where we can talk about later. Unless you want to talk about another source. Another. No, give us all. Give us all the sauces. The sauces. So, in the 1998 version, Cypher actually just tells Neo that he watched all the previous ones die. So, and then he talks about the... Wait, wait. That was my question. I was like, is he talking about like, oh, you know, he thought he had the one previous and he was talking about, you know, maybe him and Trinity and everything. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But he's talking about different people now. This is what Cypher says in the shooting script, 1998 shooting script.

24:56I'm going to let you know, on a little secret here. Now, don't tell him I told you this, but this ain't the first time Morpheus thought he found the one. And Neo goes, really? And then Cypher says, you bit your ass. It keeps him going. Maybe it keeps all of us going. How many were there? Five. Since I've been there. And then Neo goes, what happened to them? Dead. All dead. What? I told you Morpheus is fucking evil. I knew it. Shooting script. Yep, there we go. Does he mention it to Neo? Nope. Not a single word. Does he, like, you see, he's so... It's crazy. Cypher goes, honestly, Morpheus, you got them all amped up in believing bullshit.

25:38I watched each of them take on an agent and I watched each of them die. Little piece of advice. When you see an agent, you do what we do. Run your head off. Okay, now that line makes sense. He does really, he's like, he's done. He has, after five times, I wouldn't believe Morpheus either. So why was this taken out? Why was this taken out? I think you'd already be like, oh, this is something serious. But this is the question. Why was it taken out of the movie? I think, yeah, you, I think maybe to make Cypher more villainy. Well, not just that, but you know, you'd also make Morpheus villainy. Yes, yes. Because I think that would confuse the audience.

26:19I think the audience would know, it wouldn't be a classical, really structured movie at that point. You'd be like, what is going on? Like, what? So Morpheus, like, I think you'd be really lost watching the movie. Yeah, I think I do diverge from that sort of straight storytelling, what you're saying. Yeah. Yeah. It would be great as S4, you know, something more realistic. Very interesting. Very interesting, yeah. I think, I don't know if it would really help the car. Probably not, yeah. But I feel like it just adds a little more multidimensionality. It does, but I think there's so much already going on in The Matrix. I don't know. Yeah, I think for us, you know, dissecting here. Or maybe it wouldn't be strong enough. Because it's us after 15 years going, oh, this would be cool if they had that. Right, right. But imagine watching for the first time. I think it'd be pretty... But on the other hand, like, anyone we talked to as a guest came up with this.

27:05That's right. So this is something that's just out of the blue and, like, crazy. It's somebody watched the movie right now again and thought about it. Like, wait, wait, wait, what's going on? You know? There's got to be more of these. So I think it should have been maybe stayed there. You know, maybe you wouldn't think about watching it the first time. But after a couple of watches, you'd pick up and like, oh, you know, like, maybe more of this isn't... I think it'd be also a little scary, too. Yes, yes, yes, yes. Because you wouldn't know what to do if you were Neo. You're like, um... Um... I think you'd feel very much like some kind of, like, victim or something. Kind of creepy. Ah, I feel so good, man. Really? Ignorance is bliss? Down with his regime. Down with the Morpheus. Morpheus is revealed.

27:45Well, there's also... I want to maybe talk about this alternate opening to The Matrix. Okay. That was in... It's in the Art of the Matrix book, but it's supposed to... You know, it's one of the earliest versions of the opening. And I don't have to, like, read the whole thing because it's not very exciting. But I will give you, like, a great synopsis of it. Okay, cool. All right, so this opening, um... It's great because this is, like, an early version of it, of the Matrix opening. And what happens is, uh, when the Matrix codes go down, the phone calls are from just a random guy called Eddie. And... Mm-hmm. His girlfriend that he hasn't talked to in a long time.

28:26And he's like, Christy, Christy. And he's like, Christy, Christy, are you there? And she's like, I haven't heard from you in a long time. I know. I love you. I've been chased. And she's like, the police have been chasing you all around the place. And, you know, and these agents, you know, these agents. And she's like, oh, no. Is the trace called? You know, is the call traced? Are they being traced called? That he's, you know. Is the call traced? No, I love you. I'll talk to you later. I'll see you later. And she's like, no, come back. Hangs up, right? And then goes, the Matrix. Whoa. Okay. And then we see Eddie, like, stumbling around in the, you know, in the city at night, you know. This is instead of Trinity. You see, this is completely different.

29:07Okay, so it's like a random dude. Yeah, it's a random dude. Yeah. And then a car comes in, right? And parks in front of him. And he couldn't run away. Agent comes in. Agent Smith, Agent Brown, Agent Jones. And he's like, oh, no, no. And then they come in with a gun. They tase him. Okay. And they have this big briefcase. They put wires on him and stuff. And they start, start the trace. On Eddie. Yes. And Eddie's like, spazzing out. And then across the road, there's a phone booth. And it starts ringing. Okay. And Agent Smith takes it up and goes, hello, Morpheus. You lost another one. And how many will it have been until you've, you know, lost something else?

29:53Oh. And he's like, he's like, you've lost another one. How many is that? I've lost count, but I'm sure you haven't. This one? He was weak. Even weaker than the last. Oh, Eddie. Amazing. And the phone crackles with static. Will it be the next that finally gives you away? What did you expect? That's so weak, though, the opening. What did you expect, fighting inevitability? No matter. It won't be long now. Every loss brings me closer to you, Morpheus. Closer to Zion. To truth. The line goes dead. He's just dropping the Zion bombs. Yeah. And the line goes dead.

30:34And then suddenly, Eddie's body seizes up as he's being traced by the devices from the briefcase and, you know, like cables and stuff. Yeah. He reaches to the air, grabbing nothing and screaming, no! And his body collapses. He's dead. Agent Smith looks at the phone. You know, drops the handset, comes back to Agent Brown, and then goes, anything? Agent Brown says, a name. What do you think it is? And Agent Smith says, Neo. Oh. We'll need a search running. It's already begun. That's actually really scary. Yeah, it is. Yeah, it's adding more to the thing. That's awesome.

31:15So what do you think of that? That's an alternate beginning. That's just what we were talking about earlier. That would have been intense. That's amazing. I can't believe we got closure to this theory. But what was the source on that, this final one? This was from The Art of the Matrix. Art of the Matrix. Okay, so it must have been even maybe older. Wow. You know? Because we were doing 1996, and they said, what, they started like 1990 or something like that? Yeah, 1993. So they completely scrapped this theory and joined for the classic route. I'm so glad I was able to finally share this. I've been saving this for so long. Thank you so much. I am forever grateful for this. Now I know. I'm going to kiss you right now. Now we know the truth. Yep. Yeah. That's amazing.
