Minute 101: “Would you please remove any metallic items you’re carrying—keys, loose change…”

0:00Welcome again, one and all, to the Matrix Minute, a podcast where we discuss the first film one minute at a time because this movie is wonderful. It's the Matrix, and we have entered the zone, the zone that is the most famous part in the whole film, and that is the lobby. And here we are, I'm ready to rock and roll, man. Hi, I'm Phil. Hello, Phil, I'm Jake. 101 Dalmatians. Oh, yeah. 101 Dalmatians. Room 101. Neil. Neo's room. The one. So it has a lot of symbolism. Pongo! Pongo, boy.
0:40Can you imagine that? Can you imagine that? 101. I can't, it's hard. In a world of zeros and ones. Binary. The Temple of Solomon. Solomon's Temple. Okay, what do you got, my friend? And this is what happens. Neo pulls up a bag into the metal detector and walks through it. The detector sounds an alarm. The cop standing next to it calmly asks Neo, please remove all metallic items you're carrying. Keys. Loose chains. Neo. Chains. Loose. Loose change. Neo opens his coat, showing his arsenal. Holy shit. And pow! The cop is knocked out in a flurry of fire and bullets burst through Neo's two MP5Ks, killing two of the others.
1:25The surviving cop calls for backup. Backup! Send backup! And the metal detector goes off again. Trinity's here. And she guns him down. Immediately, the military storms in. And tells them to... Freeze! But Neo and Trinity split and begin mowing down a defensive. I... I... When you said he slides his coat and exposes his arse... What did you say? Arsenal. Arsenal. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I went arse. Turns around, he shows his arse. I was gonna... I was gonna write... He opens his coat and shows more than keys and loose chains. But... What's it called? Flasher?
2:05Yeah, that's... Look at my dick! Okay, so... Moral Dilemma of the Day. Ooh. Yeah, ready? It's a tough one. Okay. So Neo and Trinity enter the Matrix, right? Mm-hmm. Enter this building. Now, let us suppose... I see where this is going. Yeah, yeah, I know. Let us suppose that the people in this building are matricioners, as I'd call them. Which means they're people who live in the Matrix, right? Actual people in the plant who live in the Matrix. The fans call them blue pills. Blue pills and red pills. And now the question is, Neo goes in there, right? And, uh... Quite frankly, murders all these people.
2:47Yeah. And, of course, you know, in turn has to defend himself by also killing these other... Soldiers who walk in. What do you guys think about that? I mean, Neo obviously is going to say Morpheus, right? But at the same time, these are people. And these people have lives. These people have families. And just because they're in the Matrix doing their job, it's not their fault. Yeah. And they will never have a chance to be unplugged. Exactly. Because now they're dead. Exactly. And Neo, I mean, I'm sorry to say this, but... I don't know. It's just... It's difficult. It's a little bit difficult to justify this. What a way to begin this. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's a little bit difficult to justify this. No, it's interesting. It's good. I like it. I like it. Because, um... You know, there's this argument, right?
3:27Called the just war argument. Yeah, I know. You guys are familiar with this. That, you know, morally we can be justified, let's say, in fighting in a war. This is one angle. There's different views. Because we're, let's say, defending your own country or something like that. We have a just cause. Like, I don't know. Defense would be a good one. Let's defend people. But, Neo, in this case, is going on the offense, right? He's going on the offense to... In order to save Morpheus, he has to kill a lot of people. Yeah. So, I don't know. What do you guys... What do you guys take on that? Well... If you were Neo... Because the thing is, I find it very difficult. Just bring a lot of tranks. Let's make some tranks guns. Yeah, I think I would do that. Exactly.
4:08You're in the Matrix. You can, in the construct, create any kind of weapon you want. You don't have to load, you know, a 40-year-old veteran in Vietnam. You could bruise them really heavily or something. Or unconscious. You can have a machine that comes and just, you press one button and everyone becomes unconscious with like an electromagnetic field all around you. All those soldiers. It wouldn't be good film. But, I mean... That's what I mean, yeah. We're talking about the scenario, yeah. And that's where you come back to... Sorry. Let's go one by one. So, you said, what's yours? You would do the trank grenade. Yeah, yeah. I mean, okay, here's the problem. If I was at that situation and the guys before me, if I was Neo and I'd come and the crew would never invent all this, they would just be using guns like a bunch of, you know,
4:49heathens. And you're going to save Morpheus. I don't think you have time to invent, you know, this kind of gun. But no, it doesn't mean guns. It can be trank. Whatever. I'm saying you don't have time to do this, right? You have to go now. And the only thing you have is, like, you know, projectile-based weapons, whatever. I'd definitely try to get into buildings somehow, some other way. I would probably have an issue with that, you know? Me too. Me too. Philip? What would you... If you were Neo... If I were Neo? In this situation, what would you... How would you approach this? And how would you feel? Well, first of all, I would...
5:30I would just apologize. I apologize before murdering you. I'm sorry. No, no, no. I'm kidding. I'm kidding. Seriously. I would... Okay, I would be like, okay, I know this looks goofy, but we have to take some tranks because, I mean... Who are these people? Why would we want to take their life and just to save... You know, I mean, I get it. But, like, I get that these are the very minds of the people that we're trying to save are also the enemy. But, um... But... You have been drinking? Yeah. I don't know. Yeah. But they also deserve a chance. So, me taking their life, it just doesn't feel right.
6:11It doesn't feel right to me, Marcus. Good answers. I like your answers. So, I would just say, let's try tranks. Let's try something. Let's try some other way than just taking guns and shooting everybody. Yeah. Verbal abuse. You know, just shout at them. Shut up. You shut up. You suck. You're part of a system. You know, like those young people who are like... Yeah. Yeah. The system of oppression. Your guns are stupid. Look at my guns. They're so big. Stop it. But seriously, like... But... There's no warning. There's like, guys, if you let us in, we'll let you go. There's nothing. There's nothing. He literally... I mean, if this wasn't the nature... Literally, Neo is just a flat-out murderer. He just comes in and... Yes. Massacrist. And if you watch 80s action movies, usually these people are soldiers or ex-soldiers or
6:56ex-whatever. And those people are in the mindset of, if you are drawing a gun against me, that gives me the right to shoot you. Yes. So, I never questioned it there. But Neo is not a soldier, nor he's a policeman, nor he has any background, any sort of situation like that, so... But he's been... He's been chained up by this oppressive system that all these people who know no better, that's true, but they are cogs in... Yeah, so he's actually doing a good thing if you think about it. They're just chips that have already... He's freeing them like this? Well, I'm just saying, they're little... Let me free you with this bullet. You know, they're just ants in the giant ant swarm of...
7:38Yeah, the ant farm of the Matrix. And... Alien ant farm. And, you know, they've made their choice. They're part of the... They're, you know, they're being oppressive with the agents, with the machines, even without knowing it, so, you know... They don't know... I'm just playing devil's advocate here. Yeah, Phil's just joking. I know what I mean, but like, if Neo thinks like that, he's a dumbass guy. No, Neo doesn't think like that. That's like drinking the Morpheus juice. That is drinking the pure Morpheus juice. But to be honest, like, Morpheus told them, like, anyone who's unplugged is basically an asshole. Well, that's the thing, Morpheus... She was using... That's what he said. That's what he said. To get Neo to look at things in black and white, which maybe that caused Neo to do this. I mean, this is very black and white. I mean, yeah, it's just...
8:19Maybe, maybe Trinity is... Maybe... Because Trinity is kind of... I just don't like the fact that Neo is killing his cops. I think that Neo is killing his cops. I think that Neo is killing his cops. Okay, I want to say that I see Trinity as someone who's more capable of doing that, not caring. Like, Morpheus is important, and these people I don't really care about. I'm in love with Neo, and Morpheus is my father, and that's it. Happy family. So maybe they're in front of the building. They're ready, and... That's what she says. I'm happy about my life. I made my great decision. Neo, I love you, and Morpheus is a father to me. No, no, no. Neo goes, there's people inside there. Are we going to kill them? He's like, no, no, no. They're not people, Neo. They're just programs like everyone else. You can just shoot them straight up.
9:00It's fine. It's totally fine. Oh, okay. That's good to know. Good to know. That's probably how it went. Yeah. Maybe. She just straight out lied to them. Well, maybe she would just be like, look, it's either them or Morpheus. That's probably what you said, man. I bet you said that. But then again, you're not going to shoot them. You're going to go, hey, drop your weapons. Yeah. I mean, it's not cool, but it's... This is straight out murder. I never thought about this. You never thought about this? No, no. Because you always see in, you know, like... It's always like, especially in modern movies, which are, you know, much more PC. It's like, always the good guys. It's like, boss, boss, what's the terms of engagement? Fire only fired upon. You know, it's always kind of like... Yeah, like very clean cut. Very clean. This is just like, look at my guns.
9:42I'm going to shoot you with it. I have to say, like, I didn't want to really bring this up. But the thing is that, you know, I think this was filmed at a different time, you know. And obviously, I think that the reason why... I think when this came out, you didn't really question it. It was sort of just a cool action scene. And it still is a cool action scene when you put yourself... Yeah, I can still totally, like, remove myself from that. I still enjoy it. I don't, like, watch the scene and just go like, oh, wow. And, you know, it's part of the action scene. It's a movie. But, you know, since then, there have been a lot of, you know, tragic shootings and things like this, you know. So, if you look at it in parallels... Hey, this was before Columbine. That's what I'm saying. Yeah. And so, like, you know, it's kind of... You know, if you look at it that way, it's kind of scary.
10:24You know, like, this kind of thing. But, anyway, in the context of the film, obviously, it works as an action sequence. But, yeah, man, I mean, Nino just kills these cops. I think that, you know, later on, when he's shooting these soldiers, he's a little bit more justified because they're shooting at him. But, again, he triggered the event. So, really, it's hard to really think of any of those things. I know, I know, I know. But I just want to come to the movie's defense and say... I'm not talking against... I'm just exploring the idea. I love this scene. It's amazing. Just the coolness of just having glasses and just, like, straight up murdering everyone. It's amazing. I'm just exploring the idea because we're trying to talk about something different. So, it's always the same thing. Yeah.
11:05Anyway, so this is the classic lobby scene. Yeah, I wanted to talk about the little angles that they used to shoot the cops in. Could we do that? Yeah, dude. Whatever you want, buddy. Let's go back, okay? So, after the cop goes, holy shit. Neo goes... And then you should pay attention to the sound design. It's amazing. They put lots of wonderful reverse sounds. Before a punch. Before, like, that moment where the cop goes, back up, send back up. And then you hear... And then you see Trinity come in. And before she puts her gun up, it goes... And during the scene, isn't it still going... It's still going... Yeah. With the anvil. Until he... Reveals... Yeah. His guns.
11:45Yeah. His guns. Flexing, man. And then he just goes... By the way, when we see Neo's guns, we can see down at the bottom... Slow-mo phone. Are the Uzi type guns. Then we have the MP5. Oh, his choices? Let's see. And the Berettas. He has four Berettas. Wow. He's a big fan. Huh. That's all he has, dude. And I love that he just, like, MacGyvered them in there. Some of them don't even have holsters. No, the two Berettas in his pants are just shoved in there. They're so cold, Trinity. And look, and look, one of the... One of the... Belts. Straps. Yes, straps. It's just, like, tied in front of him.
12:26That's weird. Yeah, this is... You have to see this, unfortunately. It's hard to describe. But essentially, a lot of these things are just... Yeah. ...quickly put together. Yeah, it has a couple of holsters, you know, like... Like, undercoat holsters. Just, like, a couple of them just strapped on him. You know what's funny? There's actually not that many guns here. If you think about it. Do you want to... Like, when we go into the next three minutes... Do you want to go and keep track of how many guns he uses? Yeah, we should. But the thing is that he uses a lot of guns he picks up. Yeah, he picks up guns. I think he uses all of these because he has two Berettas and then... As sort of, like, a fully automatic, like, uh... What's it called? Not the rifle, but just, like, whatever short one.
13:06He runs out of guns. I think this whole scene, he runs out of guns. Yeah. Right, so... That's true. Yeah. So, after he just punches... Like, no, he does this tap, you know, on the first cop. And the cop falls. And then he just quickly takes out the... Heckle and... I think it's Heckle and Koch? I think so. MP5s? Did you say Heckle and Koch? What? Koch. Oh. K-O-C-H. It's the pimp motto. Heckle and Koch. MP5k. And those are the two little ones that he shoots all the other cops with. I want to just talk about a little slow motion moment that probably no one noticed, where...
13:47Oh, yeah. After doing the crisscross with, you know, with once he's shooting, he got the first guy and the other guy. And then he turns to shoot the last guy head on, the one without the hat, I think. Yeah. Yeah. And he turns to... That's a nice slow-mo shot. It's wide. And I just wanted you to notice the beauty of the negative fill we have here with the... There's a flag up there and it's blocking the light. He looks wonderful. Looks beautiful. It looks majestic. It's a cool shot. I love it. And... Can you mention really quick the newspaper? Yes, yes, yes. Because this is a very... This is like a slightly comedic thing. This guy rips his newspapers in two while he's being shot.
14:30Yes, yes. I'm here. I'm looking at the shot. He's got a big question mark on it. The City Defender. Ah, the City Defender. That's cool. Right? Because... Is it like Morpheus still at large? Also, when there's a shot, when one of his things explodes, they shine a light on him so it looks like the gun's firing or something like that. Oh, nice. And there's a little light on the left as well. You can see it, yeah. A little fleshlight. I see it. See, those were all used with squibs. Squibs are great. Yeah. Remember how now they have digital squibs? They suck. I don't like them, man. I think we talked about that as well. I think we did.
15:11But I just love, honestly, like the practical bullet wounds. Is that what they're called? You're talking about those things? Yeah, squibs. The little explosions with like fluid in them. Honestly, the new digital ones, I can never get used to. I can't really buy it. Yeah, we talked about it in John Wick that it was used for a good reason, but most of the ones are just for like safety and they don't do good visual effects on them. And they just look like poopy. So Neo does that and then the guy goes, back up, send back up. Do you want to mention about this guy? What about him? It's just funny because I was commenting that, you know, had he not asked for backup, Neo and Trinity would have a walk in the park. Yeah, they'd be able to go a few floors up before.
15:53Maybe that was the plan. That was the plan, but he ruined it because he brought in the army. And the army comes in so fast. So anyway, Trinity comes in like a Terminator. And in fact, you know, the anvil sound is very close to Terminator 2 when you hear, you know. And they murder like a cold-blooded machine as well. Yeah, yeah. The way she's walking. Let me tell you something about this script. We're not going to have a script moment because we'll just do that at the end of the sequence or later on. But I wanted to mention that Trinity in the script was going to be primarily handling knives and ninja stars. Oh, thank God that didn't happen. And you know what would be even worse? Bandana.
16:36I learned a little thing or two from Mr. Who's his name from Kung Fu Kids? Kung Fu Master? No, from Kung Fu Kids. Miyagi? Yeah, Mr. Miyagi. Oh, Karate Kid? Karate Kid, sorry. Kung Fu Kids. That's the counterfeit film. Three Ninjas. This is the other one. Yeah? Come on, tell me. Yeah, I'm saying that she learned stuff from Mr. Miyagi. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah. So she was going to use ninja stars and knives. And in this case, when that last cop went sent back up, she was actually going to throw a knife at him. Could have worked. I really have no... It could have worked. What's the first movie that did the guy has glasses and a gun and just shoots people with
17:16a straight face? Because the sunglasses are... Because this reminds you of Terminator definitely in the 80s did it. But I want to know what was the first movie that had like guy straight face, glasses and just like, bam. I mean, to be honest, even the black, like I wonder where that even comes from. Like, it's just cool or what? I don't know. Yeah. What was the first on movie cinema? That can be cool. Probably smart. I can't think of anything right now. Also, we get to see his trench coat. This is also wonderfully edited as well. This is like, this has all the right cuts and all the right places. Did they win an Oscar for editing? Yeah. Did they? Yeah. They did. It's magical. And sound design. And sounds. Should have been also music.
17:57No, no, no. Who won music? I don't know. Should have won Best Picture. Yeah. What was 1999's Best Picture? American Beauty. American Booty. American Booty. But, so, are we talking about soldiers yet or are we still got some? I mean, that's it. She killed the last cop. I just remembered. What do the little lights on the machine, on the metal detector machine mean? Why are there two green ones? That is so funny. Just two green ones and the rest are red. And he goes, burp. So, if two green ones.
18:37One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Oh, okay. Eight red ones. When he's walking in? Yeah. Maybe he's like, that's too much, like too green. Like, it's like one part of his body. His head doesn't have metal. Speaking of which, this whole metal detector. It's like one to ten centimeters of each scanner. I guess his feet have the buckles. This metal detector is quite, looks like a, made on a set. It's totally like, too many guns, too many guns. In fact, this whole thing is obviously at a studio. They shot this at a studio. It's pretty cool. Of course, I think. Fuck studios Australia. Too much metal for you. For you. No, too much metal. Please state your name. There's too much iron in your blood.
19:19No Neo here. No Neo here. All right. Well, what else happens? I don't know. The army comes in. The army comes in. The army comes in like this. Yeah. So the music starts again. They were hiding in the corner there. The anvil starts going. They have a smoke break. The anvil. Wait, listen. When Trinity shoots the guy. We're not going to go away. Okay. Sorry. Sorry. After the shooting, there was no music. But when Trinity just shoots the last guy, it goes. And then there's military. There's a snare drum that comes in. Yeah. When you see, when you hear the military. And there's a trumpet also. Ba-ba-da-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba. Yeah, right. No, it's not.
20:01But. And the way the camera's moving, like as they're walking forward, it's moving backwards. And with the music and with the military coming in. Dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun. And then they all assemble. And they wait, you know, behind the pillars. And Neo and Trinity are in this wide shot. And they, and you know, one of the. Oh, by the way. There's one guy. According to Phil Osterhaus. One of the military guys. According to Phil me. According to Phil Dragush. There's one guy here who looks like Prince Charles. And they called him Charles in the. While filming. Really? No, they're soldiers. We're going to have to keep an eye on him next time. Freeze!
20:41And then Neo and Trinity give each other a quick glance. Which I think is cool. What do you guys think about this? Yeah, great wide shot. Look at it. I love that they just go. It's Kubrickian. It's a small glance and suddenly they're off to the races. Yeah. Going all to the sides. And then it goes. And we're going to talk about that. Because that's the, that's the king song. I mean, that song was like made. That song was like destined to be. Yeah. The track for this. I can't imagine anything else. It is. And I love that no one has ever in the history of cinema. Managed to pick a song that fit.
21:23Like after this movie came out. Anytime there's an action scene. Like I was watching Tenacious D today. The pick of destiny. And there's a, there's a bit in the movie where Jack Black needs to go through the lasers. And it's always just some generic electronic techno. Some kind of song that's like hinting to, oh, it's cool. Like stunty stuff is going to happen. Like just like in the matrix. And it just never hits as good as, as, as Spy Break. It's just, it's not it. Because I think that they picked a song, like I mentioned before, that they enjoyed. And they weren't looking at music that was popular at the time, so to speak. They were just looking at what they liked.
22:04Yeah. And it fit the mood of what they were going for. And that makes a huge difference. Yeah, they had Spy Break. It wasn't like, oh, can we get a song that's like that song in the matrix? Like something really techno-y, you know, something cool. Something cool. So it's great. So that's all. But I just want to say that as a child, I remember I always like scoffed at the man saying freeze. It's like, look at you, tiny human. Really? Pathetic. Really? Like, I always went like, these people are gods to you, you know? Like, what do you think? You're going to tell them to freeze? They can dodge bullets, my friend. You're so pathetic and lame. You know what? I've never had that thought in my life. I know the thought you're talking about.
22:44I don't think I had it specifically, but yeah, I know what you're talking about. It's like, oh, he's, you know, like, haha. Yeah. Like this guy. Like a smirk. I don't think he is. Yeah. Puny human. Puny gods. So, yeah. So next week, we're lobbying it up. Lobbying it up. Lobbying Congress. Got to lobby for those laws. Got to give those congressmen lots of money in their pockets. We'll see. Yes, we shall see. So, dear listener, seashell we shall. Thank you for being here. Dear listeners. And I hope you thought about things like, what would you do if you were a Neo? You know, would you kill these cops?
23:24If you are a Neo. Would you not? Would you, would you maybe do, you know? Yeah, seriously, Tim, why didn't they just like, you know, why didn't they land like with a helicopter? Yeah. Right? Yeah. And have a little agent helicopter, like a program guy, dummy guy. They go on the roof anyway. Yeah. No, because. Or on the side, like where Morpheus already is. And he's, uh, trendy, uh, you know, with his little rope. They don't know which floor they are on because they, they, they go to the floor, you know? Yeah. They take the elevator up there just so they know where they are. And then, if you see Aja Smith talking to Morpheus and Morpheus is looking out in the window, you see like in the background, oh, the rope. Like they had to go up. Yeah. Like they had, they had to go up and steal the helicopter, which they didn't plan on, obviously.
24:09But they should, you know, have some kind of strategy plan. Like why don't, why don't we just use a helicopter? We have ships. Why don't they disguise themselves as window cleaners? Yes. Come on. Like little helmets. Yes. White lab coat or whatever. Yeah. Perfect. Trendy. And they just keep going down and down. Yeah. They keep going down. They see. There he is. He's up there. Get back up. Get back up. They're cleaning and it's suddenly, you know, out of nowhere. Imagine that with, uh, with, uh, with that, uh, uniform. You'd be good in a different film. Let's do it. Not in the Matrix. Well, thank you very much, everybody. Go to the matrix minute. That one, go to the Facebook page and the group that has lots of stuff going on.
24:51I mean, we're on fire. We're actually just having, playing games. We're saying jokes. People are saying stuff. It's just, it's awesome. This is actually burning. It's like on fire. It's on fire. It's huge. The room is on fire. I spend like 90% of my time there because there's so much activity. So much. Per day. You can't even keep track. Never. Can't. We're just that. Just notifications. Like, you know, on the phone notification, it goes to 99 plus. It's so frequent that the frequency is so much higher that we as humans don't even hear the ting. We just hear a wave. It just goes. We hear 17,000. Hey, by the way, fun fact. Fun fact. Fun fact. Did you know that the Tyrannosaurus had such a. Was he a tyrant? Diaphragm that it would be so low that you can hear it.
25:32You can feel it. That's awesome. I want to have that diaphragm. So when it, when it, when it, when it kind of, when it lets out a roar, it might not even be a roar. It'd just be like a sub bass. Like a. Like a, yeah. Like a. Like a rocket ship. Yeah. Yep. So, so, so, so, so they're pretty close of, uh, you know, making up some mammoths, bringing a bed. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Will they also go. Ooh. No. And then, uh, they're not that far, you know, they were here only a couple of thousand years ago. So those are easier. Do you think we'll ever get dinosaurs? Well, Jack Horner is trying to, uh, reverse engineer, uh, chickens. Just himself. Chickens. Yeah. His house. So maybe, maybe that's, that's a good, that's a good option.
26:15Honey, I'll come to bed later. I think that's the only way you could do that. What are you doing, Jack? You know. I'll just like try to, but we'll never, we'll never have the authentic then. You won't have the authentic ones, but you will be able to at least go close enough. A Jurassic Park monstrosities. Yes. A Jurassic Park monstrosities. Yes. That's what you get. I don't want those. The ones you think. I do. You want the monstrosities? Yes. I want the monstrosities. I want the true blue. I want authentic. You know what? You know when people go like, what do you want? Do you want invisibility, internal life, or time machine, whatever? I think I want time machine. Well, that's, but you control everything. I'm fascinated just going to different times of life. Maybe it'll get boring after five visits, but I go, everything's the same always. Can you imagine? Tim comes back after five visits. How was time traveling? Good. The first five times. Then it's just the same thing.
26:56It's like, oh, it's. But now it's like, Cambrian era. Well, if you go to the Cambrian era, you have, you have the opportunity to smell fresh air and. I know. I would love to see it. What if Tim went back in time? Ugh. He dies because of the atmosphere. Because there's diseases we didn't know about. He opened the door. It's instantly. Just all the diseases. It's like, you know, total recall. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. The air is too clean. Never returned. And in the future, we find Scott. We find the fossils. His eyeballs remain. Well, no, no. In the future, they find fossils. And then, you know, there'll be the Creation Museum. And then they'll be like, look, man lived alongside dinosaurs. Yes, you're so right. And then Tim is proof. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
27:37And that's the truth. Tim is proof of three-day creation. Three-day destroy everything in history and biology. That'd be amazing, wouldn't it? Yeah. Tim is the only human found at that time. The proto-sapien. Speaking of which, Michael Crichton made that book. Timeline. Tim, you would confuse all the scientists if that happened. Everyone. Just throw out the books. It would be so confusing. Like, what is this anomaly? I was like, damn it, we almost had it. Yeah, we had it. We were so close. And then this idiot has to be the only human. But, you know, Michael Crichton wrote Timeline. Did you read it? No, but now I'm kind of considering it. Is it time travel? Yes. Middle-aged. That could be interesting. Timeline. Timeline. You watched the film. That's the movie where I go back in time.
28:19Timeline. I have to die. It's in one. Perfect. Ah. No, no, you watched it. You watched it for Clown. I watched Timeline with Paul Walker. Yeah. And Janelle Butler. Yeah. And I think it wasn't that great, but I don't know. I remember much. It's directed by Richard Donner. Interesting. Donner Kebab. Richard Donner Kebab. Do you think you're going to read the book, Phil? I would like to because, you know, Michael Crichton puts lots of research. Why don't you read the book? Why don't you read the book and come back on The Matrix and give us a report? I was reading Pirate Latitudes by Michael Crichton. How far did you get? It was so boring. Really? Yeah, it's not Jurassic Park.
28:59I tried a couple of them. Yeah? Yeah, yeah. You tried some too? Yeah, I have a few. You tried some Doona Kebab? I can't believe it. I never thought of that. Okay. So, we're going to call it a day. Yes, we are. Yes, yes. Good night, everyone. We're a good rest of the day. Depends on where you are. Hey, my birthday happened. Yeah, Phil's birthday happened. Oh my goodness. Phil. He's almost old. No, no, it's tomorrow. My birthday's tomorrow. Yeah, that's right. That's right. Wow. You're getting old, John. Yeah. You're getting old. Yes. Soon. Well, happy birthday, my friend. Thanks. Should I go by you? Bye-bye. Yeah. Bye-bye.
